Spring, well maybe

The Calendar says its spring, but last night the temps dipped into the 30's F

I went to bed at 7pm and woke up at midnight and the house was COLD brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Only 64F in here, so I tossed a fire in the little Whit and crawled back in the sack.

This morning it was still only 67 in the house and there was frost on the deck, sooooooooooo, I got lazy and kicked the stat up on the quad to take the chill off.

I like it 70F in the house.

Later in the week the weather folks are talking 80's F, but its still stove season as far as I'm concerned.

Not until June is stove season really over, and then if we get a batch of T Storms blow up it can turn off cool for an evening.

It was cool here this morning so I put the LP FP on for a min. I am going to swap out the Astoria for the P-61A when the Harman is ready. Today I drilled out the rivets on the hopper lid and drilled all the holes to install the Hopper extension. I could not go from a 130 lb hopper down to a 70 lb pound hopper. So with this extension it will be 140 lbs. I like the design better. When it runs out of pellets there are none left in the hopper!

The extension does not come with any screws and some people us the self tappers.
I noticed more rivets in the top of the hopper than held the lid in place. I removed them all so the extension would be more flush. So I drilled those holes out to 11/64 and used some nice 8-32 with nuts and lock washers.

Spring?? Really??? Where????? I'm 60 miles north of New York City, and we have frost warnings for tonight.

Maybe it's spring in Florida.

It's Spring here.
Everything seems to be blooming all at once though.
The cool must be helping the blossoms persist. Maybe the lack of rain too.

Yah, I had ice here this morning. I had a lot of heavy rain Sunday night as well. Last week the stove was off for a few days. It was supposed to get into the 80's last week here as well, but only got to the mid 70's. Oops. Paper bags for the talking head weather people (again). Better than last year's record rains though, I burned into July here. Tapering off in April is a nice difference. Almost all of my stinky cottonwood is gone.

East winds are picking up and its warming up this morning.

Spring here, but every few days my stove complains it almost out of pellets, and I don't think the gremlens are stealing them at night so I would guess its firing up overnight.
