Grand Blanc, Mi
From a CL add, there was no pic in add so I didn't know what was there ,so I just took the Husk 445 but, U see It's gettin the job done.
I have, actually never had to deal with stuff this big before !!!
No one living at the property, it's up for sale, The bad thing about the ash is the fence but, while I was there the the owner walked up ,I guess he lives down the road some where.
There was an address in the add, I told the owner he could take off the add cuz I would get it all outa there, he said I will wait till your done
The good thing about the ash is, I asked if I could pull off 3 boards from the fence, he said sure
I had wedges with me but no fiskers . Got a good load, more tomorrow.
Now for the Pics ,Last one not a good pic but , I figured out how to use my tilt bed with a load of wood :)

AWESOME !
Saw that bluish black stain,
immediately knew there was some steel in there somewhere, (tip from Scotty)

Some great looking wood.
Big rounds were fun eh?

Awesome white oak (pretty sure it;s white) , high on the BTU scale!

Trailer gonna make a lot less trips ;)

Looked like a great fun day :)

Didn't know that bluish black stain was from metal, can one piece stain all down through the tree ;?

Don't know if it's white oak ,kinda redish on the in side, smells like I opened up a big pickle jar ;lol

Might be red oak. Hard to tell from pics some times. Live white oak smell good, vanilla kinda.

I see a few spots meaning steel in various places.
Various iron in the tree, a yard tree, along a fence row & that old.
I'd bet it has seen a barb wire fence, nails, staples over its lifetime.
Less cutting you do less chance to dull a chain.

Pretty sure I'm done cuttin on the oak, didn't hit any thing, just gotta bust em up to load em

Lotta BTUs in a few years from that load. Nice grab! Great pics. We always like to see pics.

Taint red oak for sure. White all the way. I've rolled many logs the same way as you. Easier than lifting! I also use a cant hook which again makes things much easier.

Ok ,so white oak smells like pickles ;?
I used the cant hook on some of it, but mostly used the hookaroon to drag or roll em .

I am glad I now have these three tools, they are great :)

Got another load.
Some one was there before me today and got a few smaller pieces of the oak but ,I guess they didn't have the balls to tackle the big rounds ;lol.
They never touched the ash but , they didn't have permission to take the fence apart like I do, Ha Ha >>

This is the way I like em all cut up ready to load ::-)

Talked to the other half, Lady Prop, owner today, told her she could take off the add cuz I will get it all outa there , and I see , She Did Delete the add :)

You may not have hit any metal while cutting but I bet you find some when you rake the coals and clean out the firebox. I keep a small box for just such "trophies."

I got lucky,U see

The stain runs far but it doesn't necessarily run the entire length. A clothesline pulley 20' up might not show up at the butt end. I think it also has to do with oxidation as I have made cuts into oak that I knew had metal but was not stained. 1/2 hour later the blue appeared. The only explanation I can think of is that oxygen had something to do with it.

Nice score. Fairly easy loading too! I prefer the bigger rounds.

One more load, only one more left
