Me and another Hearth.comer/co-worker grabbed up this great deal. We got almost 2 cords of barn stored poplar and cherry for $50!!!! The old man thanked us for taking it away. It doesn't get any better than this. I got my wife in on the stacking too!
All the wood in the pic isn't from this find, only about a cord of it is.
Maybe he will post some pics of his share of it.

Nice score!
Keep it dry & you're hooked up for next burn season.

Nicer wood haulers ;)

My wive is a better stacker, when she has time to help :)

Not a bad deal at all! I'm not crazy about poplar, but the cherry is some great stuff. One of the finest smelling firewoods that the Good Lord ever graced the earth with.......I don't have much on hand right now, but when I do, I like burning it on snowy days. Love the smell of cherry when I'm out in the backyard playin' in the snow!!

That poplar will make good shoulder season wood for the fall, sounds like it's pretty much ready to go.

Awesome score! The poplar will serve as nice shoulder season wood. Cherry is right up there w/Ash IMHO.

Even better is cherry in the smoker with some ribs or pork butt. It almost makes me feel guilty sometimes running it up my flue.

Yes, I agree! That's how I feel about the applewood that I cut. Be it crabapple, regular apple, pear, etc.
All of that gets stacked in a separate pile (along with some of my hickory) to be used for smoking and cooking on the keyhole firepit!!

In my pictured stack to the far right is a few layers of pear, I put it on top so I could get to it when I smoke this summer!>>
We had a huge pear come down this spring, it burns pretty good, I hope it smokes even better!

Already split ,$25 a cord, Ha Man

Nice haul, but tell your Mrs. she doesn't really need to get all dressed up for firewood pics just for us.;)
It's good she wore gloves. I can get splinters just looking at a split.>>
She always dresses up to stack wood. It's one of my requirements, you know, out of respect for the wood.
