Huh. It snowed 8 inches in mid May down where I was living in southern Oregon (well below the 45th) all of 6 years ago. Elevation 400 ft. In the last 6 years or so, the PNW, including BC and Alaska, have been cooler than average and had more snow and later in spring than normal.

One event does not debunk GW. Do not confuse weather with climate. Also GW models actually predict weirder weather with more extremes. More energy means more chaos, which you are experiencing. Its not 'everything is going to heat up evenly and be warmer everywhere and at all times'. The poles are 4 degrees warmer, whereas the equator is only 1 degree warmer in the past 100+ years or so.

We've seen snow several time in MI this late and later. I remember one year around the 20th getting a few inches. Good part is that it does not last long.

Up to 41°
Hope it's gone in a day or 2.
Some 50° days coming but still 10 to 15° below normal.
Late garden this year.

I don't think the folks in the Alaskan village of Newtok would be so quick to pooh-pooh Climate Change.

Sorry about your weather. Still dark there too?

Snowiest northern hemisphere winter on record (satellite record. The only record we have [since 1966]):

Why didn't they arrange the data along the X-axis in chronological order?

And why are there years missing?

And what's with 1997/78?

Pretty sloppy/misleading data presentation, IMO. Rick

P.S. NOAA has done lots of sloppy stuff. Don't worry; they have thick skin.

You think the 12/13 added in yesterdays 4" (for me here) & 8" a few miles away in Hatcher Pass ? :)
Probably , like me, thought the snowing was done for the year ;)

It's only through April. Takes time to parse data, publish, double check for errors like writing 97/78 instead of 97/98....y'know.

If it makes you feel any better, it is supposed to snow pretty low here this week in the Cascades, with a really cold and wet system coming down from... Alaska.

I will have to start up the stove again this week. It has been raining here all last week as well, after they 'predicted' a dry May at the beginning of last week. But hey, at least we do not have to deal with tornados here very much (we did have a lot of them through here 2 years ago though).

88 yesterday with high humidity. Felt like August. And not in a good way. 75 when I woke up this AM.
