Feeling the Heat

I noticed that the heat exchanger baffle is made out of a brass or bronze alloy material when I wire brushed it . I've gone through the wire brushing every year, for the past five years, and never noticed it before. Does anyone know what the meta composition is? It's not soft enough to be solid brass.

Sorry about the misspelling in my posting title, I couldn't figure out how to edit it.

Most Quads are aluminum.

Mine was. It's a Classic Bay 1200.

Should say online? I thought that the Santa Fe and Castile were aluminum also? Its a good material to transfer heat.

By heat exchanger 'baffle' are you referring to the plate that fits up at the top and is slanted toward the back? Mine's stainless on both my Quads.

I started to clean my stove last night for the summer as well.

Still run mine in the morning house was 60 this morning not going to fly with a 6 month old and 4 year old that are in the house all day.
