I am running a 20x10-8 Now. How big can I go? And what tread pattern? (Will keep my tuff tires for mowing)

All these lawn mower threads makes me beef mine up.

For those wondering, Jay runs a Deere LA 135. ;)

Jay if you really want to beef that machine up, you need to find yourself a K66 trans and the appropriate wheels and rubber for it. Used to be relatively cheap to do, now it'll cost you almost what you paid for the tractor to begin with.

I'd stick with the chains for traction....

Sounds smart: I got a guy down the road with 2 brand new good years 23x10.5-12. Darn sure do not want trans issues later.

Chains are your best bet...and you could leave them on year round if you wanted to. I used to mow a yard for a guy using his tractor...it always had chains and was pretty easy on the turf.

Ya I didn't notice any turf tears and that doing my 2 acres 4 ways, and 24k 3 ways.

Paint some yellow flames on it if you want it to look mean.

My thinking was taller tire higher top speed and better for plowing. MasterMech got me looking at MyTractorfourm. Check out there snow plowing small tractors.;)

i agree with mastermech... the 10% larger tire will cause 10% higher loading on your transaxle. i want to say the la165 starts a different variation of the k46, and rated for the larger tire, but i'm not 100% on that.

LA 155 and up use the K46 while everything smaller has the T40 trans.

simple, buy 4 tires off a Case 444/6/8's and give the guy enough money he throws in the rest of the machine with it _g
