I'm all for saving money just don't forget your insurance company if any may (they are funny about such things) not take a liking to your device followed closely by the holder of your mortgage if any (the insurance company will tell them when they cancel the policy).

be cool for a shed or barn I would not put it in my house

Yes maybe your are right about that, you can never be 100% sure about safety around these things. Still a would modified it, and make some kind of fire protection so I would sleep peacefully at night :/

i find it difficult to believe that you cannot find a decent used machine for what it would cost you to fab something up. I'm all for the "spirit of invention" and being creative, but fire is not a toy. Maybe you fab up a nice pellet grill, or pellet forge....something for "outdoor use"....oh, pellet fire hot air balloon!

I thought i did right thing. Called insurance co and asked if i could put in a outdoor wood burner. Yes no problem. Three yrs latter they canceled because i burned wood. Cost of insurance went up by 1500. I did the install. Had the local inspector and fire marshall inspect. All was well, insurance co still canceled. So be careful a what you save will be stolen by others.

X2, if you really try u can get a Great deal on a nice used pellet burner!

This one I got real cheap. I put in a used exhaust blower and 2 new burnpot SS nuts and bolts.
Keeps the shed a constant 70 Deg with the T-Stat

It has a pie warming compartment that is great for keeping the coffee warm.
See what a little paint can do!

I have a stove you can have for $250. If you come pick it up.

Would still be cheaper and SAFER for you to drive to Ohio to get it. Has a new Combustion blower, convection blower, and 1 new auger motor (1 is a few yrs old), a new impingement plate and new paint!

I have about $400 in new parts in it. Or buy my stove and tear the parts off and use them? (Kidding) :)

Honestly. There are to many good deals out there. Many stoves in the $200-$500 range

if you go into a project like that with the thought you will save money, you will not build anything worth while and most likely abandon the project before ever finishing it. Budgets are predators of the creative process. If you think you will make something and save dollars but you have to ask us which plan to go with, you are already falling short. Essentialy you will be making a copy of a prototype....expect to pay 10x more than a vetted item, it will be unlisted and you will be constantly tinkering with it to keep it in operation.

Then again, if money is no object.....well, thats the camp i'm in and my wife isn't always happy about that

Also.....I would be interested to see the controls. Building the stove is rather easy. Keeping it running considering all of the variables and remaining safe is harder than it may seem. People were building boats for ions, but it took a long time before they could round the earth in them.

Just what I was looking for!!!!!!!!

in a bit I will be unveiling my pellet stove with hot dog/sausage rollers....will make pie warmer look soooooo 1987.

Will those Hot dog rollers also be improved round heat exchangers? That is a great idea!
The tops of my round heat tubes are just sitting there getting dusty, so you might as well roll some dogs on them!
Then you can steam those dogs in beer!
