Nothing special but it started first pull and split the gnarliest piece of knotty wood I had at the house. Just couldn't turn it down for $100.

Heck that thing is worth at LEAST 500 clams just for parts!!
You could always modify it to suit your needs if you have the desire to do so. But that will beat hand splitting any day. You got that thing for what a couple of good fiskars axes cost!! Well done!!

Great find, now you need to get some mag wheels for bad boy.

Thanks everyone.

Been planning a lift kit and a front kick stand to make it a bit more user friendly. Just need to pick up another spool of wire for the Hobart and some square tubing.

Good investment .

Yea, a bit higher would make it easier on the back ;)

Heck with the splitter.....That's a bad boy Toro you got there!

Wish I could say the Toro was mine. I'm the Equipment Manager for the golf and grounds department of a resort here and I also run my own turf equipment repair business out of my shop at home. That was here for what was supposed to be a crazy hydraulic issue. Turned out to be just a seat switch and I didn't even get to hook up my flow meter. Oh well, maybe next time.

Heck - that splitter could blow up tomorrow and you would still have 100 bucks in scrap metal. You dun guud.

Great find man :)
I found one,the CL add, said it ran good and split good 50 bucks, it was gone when I called 5 hours after add was posted :(

The only reason you got that splitter for $100.00 was the milk crate didn't come with it.. That's a $300.00 option ;)

Ray

The reason it was a hundred is that it won't split vertically. The way God intended splitters to work. >>

Sweet deal!! For $100 you got the deal of the day!!

If a deal comes on CL. You need to be there within the hour. Otherwise. You might as well forget about it.

I called on a 550xp husqvarna 2 days ago. Was listed at $250. I called within minutes and the guy said someone was on there way to get it. :( If you want a good deal. You gotta check often and be the first to strike ;)

For those of you that have a smart phone and are shopping on craigslist, there is an app that you can get and set it up to notify you every time something you are looking for is posted. This way you can be one of the first to reply.

Nice find. I'd love to come across a splitter like that in that price range.

The mobile app search on CL is very nice. That's how I found my pellet furnace. Got the notification within 30 minutes of the sellers posting.

Yup, big reason I finally went to a smartphone is to gain an advantage with CL.

What App are you using to get notifications from CL?

Ray

I was using Craiglist Notifier. But itbwas discontinued(was to good of an app and they wanted to charge for it).

Just got the new Samsung S4 and lost Notifier. Now I have Pro. Maybe it takes some time to warm up to? But I liked my Notifier better.

Board member Shari is our resident keeper of all things Didier. I do believe that she may also have the manuals for that splitter.
