Hello

I have been trying to restore a Magnum Baby Countryside lately. After cleaning the ignitor with a wire brush and Acetone, it barely makes any smoke on startup so it is back in commission now. Probably works better than it ever did. :) See new pics below

The challenging part was cleaning out the burned wood pellets in the hopper. The original installation was not recommended in the manual! (outside vertical rise in a cold climate)
Having a mini right angle die grinder does the trick!

Cleaning out the top ash chamber is part of the process now!

It needed a new plastic hopper handle and auger bushing set. The Delron bottom busing was gone!
Throwing in a new Gleason-Avery 2 RPM Auger motor was icing on the cake

Upgraded to a slightly fatter cleaning rake and came up with another modification.

Upgrading the exhaust blower to the higher 105 CFM and understanding the previous install was not recommended.

Changing the door gaskets is always a good idea on a 7 year old stove

A new control panel membrane and new silicone vacuum hose and new hi limit switch.
The upgraded Stainless Steel wood pellet pot along with the jumper change on the control board makes it burn wood pellets now just as well as it does corn!
I painted the inside of the ash pan VHT very high temp flat black and the outside VHT very high temp flat aluminum to jazz it up a bit. :)
Very high flat black VHT flame proof paint in the fire box and a nice Stove Bright Metalic black on the outside is the finishing touch!

How does it look now?

What??? No coffee pot warmer or easy bake oven.;)

What could have prevented or delayed a major overhaul like this? Is it the result of neglecting a regular cleaning schedule?
Great job. You pimped that stove.

Thanks, I just added one of the main causes we dug out in one of the side threads.
The outside vertical rise in the exhaust venting in a cold climate region is not recommended in the stove manual unless it is properly insulated in a chase!
Manufacture's do have a tough job but in this case the manual was right and the install was wrong! Also the stove was setup to burn corn and it was burning wood pellets!

Actually there is a special feature! There are two top holes under the very top of the stove that bring up heated air to warm the trivet. You can put your coffee mug on it!

Yes, there is a coffee warmer or a nice pot of water for some humidity.

1st pic - top off
2nd pic - hole that brings up the hot air to the trivet. One on each side and a few smaller holes in the middle. See yellow arrow.

Basically he applied every fix for the stove Aes recommends. The only thing that would have delayed it would have been not using it or buying something else.:(

Nice. You now own a $4500 Baby-m.

nope, less that what you paid for your Lopi Heritage Bay. :) Also the Digital Control Panel worked fine as is.
