Haha I am a bit anal about taking care of things once there fixed up. I wax my car why not the splitter lol.

It's the first I heard of waxing the beam.

I don't care whatever you kids call it this day . . . but I tell ya you'll grow blind if you do it too often. ;)

my wood cutting budy pours oil on the beam where the wedge slides, but no wax.

Same here. Johson's paste wax on any bare metal that needs to stay bare. I usually wax the splitter before it goes dormant for the summer.

Well I think once the enamel is fully cured I am waxing it to help keep the oil tank and beam clean maybe ill even power wash it every week like my car and slam a PBR while I do it lol.

I've never waxed ours and 20 years later it still looks good. If you do wax, I'd wait 3-6 months before waxing it though.

Dormant? I split a cord today! I think that makes 3 cords this week.

I already have my 2016 wood. I don't split when its hot.

Well, good for you! Only two seasons in, and using more than 6 cords each year, I'm still trying to get ahead! Almost finished my 2015 wood, and have about 8-9 cords of rounds stacked waiting to be split for 2016.
