Actually, those of us in MD are used to sticky, humid summers, however, the past few years it feels more like Louisiana that Maryland. Yesterday I woke up to 80 degrees at 4:45, and the moisture on the outside of my double-glazed bow window completed obliterated the view, and there was no rain for two days. There are some days when I feel that if I take too big a breath, I might drown.;hm

ahhh, finally windows open and AC is OFF. No t-storms here last night, but much cooler and comfy. Guess this summer proves its IS more the humidity than the heat. Last year was hot but not as uncomfortable as this year. Did ot run AC anywhere near the amount this year. I dont want to see my electric bill for July

Can't wait for Saturday evening(thunder storms) and Sunday is supposed to be cooler. Hopefully we'll salvage the last day of vaca with a fishing trip! Luckily still have a week and change to use at a later date! whew!

Hmmm, good idea to see where I am month to date. Currently at 446 with 12 days to go until next reading, last year I used 478 fir the whole month. With the temps being a bit lower for the foreseeable future, it will be my highest in the past several years but I may not be all that bad off. I don't run the ac during the day when no one is here as the 2 window units turn on by built in timers around 3ish. Ceiling fan and 1 floor standing fan run all day.

446?, i've never used that low, elctric hot water/stove/dryer/kids steal my juice.
Still humid as i felt it come back sunday around 6, not as bad but still humid.

I'll be happy if I'm under 3000 kWh this month. Wife at home with new baby, so AC is running around the clock.

Around 1200 electric everything in 2400 sq ft. Ran the central air for about 12-14 days this month. We have a geo heat pump so A/C isnt quite as expensive to run as central air.

Damn ! You guys use some juice! I cringe when my bill is over a hundred bucks................
Then again, not so many in the house and tend to manage by closing blinds and such all day, turning units off when no one there and way down (or up) at night. Preferably off all night with open windows.

No A/C during heat wave. House never got over 81 F, most days 79 F. Morning temps 70- 72 F. Use fans blowing out at night, close house in morning.

I'm assuming no one at home opening and closing refrigerators or cooking, no TV's / computers / dehumidifiers pumping heat into the house. I used to do the same, before kids.

Humidity is back had to turn on the a/c after work, was sweat all day at work, 1/2 day cold front all we got as i felt the humidity come back sunday night.

Got 2" of rain yesterday afternoon, and then our humidity finally broke. Temperature in my workshop dropped from 115F (Saturday) to 95F (Sunday) to 85F (last night). Then we got another 2.5" of rain last night, for 5.5" total in less than 12 hours.

No cooking, TV and computer on part time. This is not Philly, gets cool at night even during a heat wave. So cool at night, used blankets before morning. BTW both retired.

Maybe when my kids are gone I can cut my utilities a bit right now I will pay the extra to have A/C and be comfortable. More power to you if you can be comfortable in a house that warm my wife could I can not so she wears a sweatshirt and the A/C is set on 70. Although our electric bill only goes up $10-$15 for our A/C. If I could just throw that dryer out it would go down a lot.

Weatherman said our humidity today is 7%. That's right, seven. Bloody noses are pretty common - not to mention forest fires. It's been brutal warm for Montana, mid 90's everyday. Thankfully it gets down to low 50's at night. Open the windows and cool off the house. Except now at night I have to listen to my neighbor's new ac. I don't get that!

I sometimes have to travel to the west coast for work, and I can tell you, this east-coast boy cannot take that dry air! Many mugs of coffee all morning, maybe one water in the afternoon, then bourbon or beer at dinner and tea at bedtime... never a problem in our local humidity. On the west coast, that's a recipe for constant dehydration and an occasional bloody nose!

Funny I go east every few months and can not stand the humidity. What's the point of a shower? Guess I'm used to guzzling water.

Can't say for sure, but I think I would be in heaven. I hate humidity, even winter humidity annoys me.

My diet is a recipe for dehydration... but we all run on different fuel! My wife, fruits, vegetables, and plenty of water. Myself, caffeine and alcohol. ;lol
