Thee have been lots of posts in the past two years concerning overheating issues with the M55 insert and its over heating issues. Here is a photo of the problem. If you look at the shaft from the motor going in to the tangential fan you'll see it's crooked. The weight of the motor causes the motor itself to sag which slows down the RPM thus causing the issue. FYI this motor came out of a Vista Flame M55 FS. Really, any M55 stove with this motor will eventually garner this issue. image.jpg

Excellent photo! Is there a cure for this? What supports the motor?

The motors I use have locking tabs to secure the motor to the blower housing. They are also adjustable so you can change the position of the motor so the wire terminals do not hit the stove body.

Scott, What size is that blower? The upgraded one I have fits the Travis Newport, Newport Bay, Pioneer and Pioneer Bay.
Will it fit the Enviro M55? It may be a better blower if it does fit?

Here are the specs for mine.
130 CFM
1800 RPM
CW Rotation
0.88 AMP
Skel Frame
S.P. Type
Ball Bearing
Height: 3.25 inches
Width: 3.75 inches
Overall Length: 12.50 inches

Discharge Opening: 9.50 inches x 1.375 inches

No Don, that motor will not fit on this stove. I know the motor you speak of. It's too small. I think the new motor replacement is 230 cfm or so and about 7 inches longer in width

Hello

Looks like Enviro makes 2 tangential blowers, the 60 MM diameter Part # 50-1217 for the Enviro Mini and the larger one for the M55 which 80 MM diameter part # 50-2481

Ahha

you just posted two motors saam ID #

Yes, and then I corrected the second number. Got to get back into the parts for this season. LOL
The biz is pouring in now, how about yours?

Enviro makes many different tangential blower. We have the 50-2481, EC-069, 50-1455, 50-1217, 50-2346, and the 50-2260. Each is used in different stoves. That doesn't include the double housing blowers or the EF-002. The problem with the older M55 convection blowers has been solved in the newest generation which work just fine and we haven't had any warranties on at all.

Similar problem, my blower was making noise, found it was coming from the blower/motor, same deal, motor on an angle. Gasket (or is it a bearing? pink piece inside the blower) is cracked. Can that piece be replaced? hope i dont have to replace the entire blower assembly....but if I do, it wouldn't hurt to get the turbo blower.
