We are talking about getting a bigger stove before the snow flies and my dad has expressed an interest in taking our Lopi Answer off of our hands and using it for a garage stove. What would be a fair price we could charge for this to ease the cost of getting the new stove. I will, of course, be cutting an extra cord a year for him.

If dad wants to help out with the new stove purchase and the Answer is in good condition, $500 would be a fair price. Will you be installing it for him?

Glad to hear that $500 is fair because i was just hoping to get 350 out of it. my brother will install it probably since he is a roofer, but the chimney from his old setup might still be intact. sounds like he will get a good deal.

How old is it? Condition? I would think $350 is more reasonable, especially since its your dad. Unless its in great condition,
Then $500 is fair.

It is from the mid 80s but in fantastic condition save for the rope seal needing replaced this fall.

$350 or so would be a good price for your dad. It's pretty old.

Ok, glad i am not out of line.

The devil is in the details (that were missing). A stove from the mid 80s I would be giving it to my dad. This is an old stove. My comments were based on a stove made in this century.

Are you kidding? You should be giving it to him! Can you imagine the hell he went through to raise an incorrigible such as yourself?? ;)

I vote for, Give it to him...

Well you can tell him you really want the new stove, the old one is his when that happens, your short on cash and have to wait a while, see what he says.... 350, just wait the time that it takes or have you looked into financing, some have 0%, especially if your paying 3/4, up front, that's not much to finance on the total price, if one guy says no, call another....just an idea
