Just putting up my first batch for the season. Mighty tasty to come home to a crock pot in the winter after work.

My wife make them with red peppers......yummy!

My wife wants to know, do you cook the meat or is it raw when you freeze it?

Raw Jack.....I've heard and read many different ways of doing them. Some say cook the meat, blanch the pepper, etc. I do neither, clean peppers well, core the pepper, mix up my ground chuck concoction, stuff and freeze. Put in crock pot frozen cook on low with my canned tomato juice for 8-10 hrs. UMMM good. Been doing them that way for around 15 years.

Man they sound like a winter winner.:) Try that 3 times real fast.

Love stuffed peppers. As many of them in my freezer as I get peppers on my plants (minus those we eat raw). Mind sharing your recipe for the beef mixture? Always like to try new versions....

I have always cooked mine in advance, stuffed into raw pepper and frozen. I'll give your slow cook raw version a try....on top of the wood stove.

My mom makes a MEAN stuffed pepper (also stuffed pepper soup, which is ALMOST as good as stuffed peppers!). We had some last weekend, cooked in a pan on my dad's grille. I love 'em! Do you mix rice in with your chuck?

Lean ground chuck, white or yellow onion, some of the tops off the peppers cut up and added, italian bread crumbs, tomato juice (to mix the bread crumbs in) work mixture well. Did add rice this year for a try but that's a first. Also have added some medium hot peppers or a clove of garlic a few times. Stuff and freeze.

Try it with bison meat, even better

I find that Ukrainian Honey Pepper vodka also helps with the winter. ;)

Here's a pepper recipe you guys may like........take some mild (or even hot) loose sausage, brown it and drain off the grease. Take a block of Philly Creme Cheese, some Italian seasoning and minced garlic and mix it up really good with the sausage. Stuff the sausage mix into Hungarian wax peppers, grill lightly or bake a short while and serve.......

Un-freaking-real!

Scotty that recipe looks like a good one , as its a low carb one also.

I have had something like that before but had forgotten about it. Might have to try that Scotty.
