Very nice. Is it Ash?

Some mulberry that I picked up from the same job as the driveway along with some of the other wood in back. Should be in good shape for the next couple of years. Also have tons just outside of town where we process wood for him and to sell. Need to get pictures next time I get out there.

Have you or anybody else figured how time they have in each season's wood gathering?

Yes it is nice to come home from work to find a pile of wood or logs in the backyard. Now to figure out how to get the elves to come by some night do the c/s/s part of it.

yeh a bit of time but i look at it as payed time = i work for myself so when i have a short day i go cutting , if i cut 2 weeks worth of firewood , saves on 2 weeks of gas heating .. = ive made money / saved money by using the left over cut short work day to go collecting , and not paying the gas or electric company .

HL? Where's that?

Going by one of those pics that said "Locust,Apple,Maple..." around here when someone says Locust 99% of the time its Honey Locust.I assumed that's what it was.But looking at the pic again I noticed that deep furrowed bark on 1 of those big rounds - looks more like Black Locust instead, along with the color too.

He says he is going to send his guys over to help split when they slow down ::-) The locust in the one picture is some black locust they droped off a few months ago. Can not ask for a nicer guy. Fell off one of his trucks loading it and broke his are at the sholder and messed up his ankle. Still hard at it just not climbing for awhile. I have a camera set up so I can see them deleiver it. When they brought the maple they came back a few minutes later with 1 crotch that must have fallen off the first load.
I work 50 + hours a week but still do everything I can to go help them with saws and cool drinks in hand. Funny, I feel I owe him for the wood and he feels he owes me for taking the stuff and helping out. They all love running my Husky 365 and wish I would forget it when I leave.

I haven't ever kept track of the total time I spend gathering firewood. I enjoy it so much that I just go out when I can and process what I can. Its just fun to me

I don't keep track of the time spent doing this, but it's not as much as it should be. I've easily got 2 years ready but I work with partner (Lefty) who sells it and we have tons to get processed to sell. If I did have to guess I would say around 20-30 hours a month. Less in summer and more in cooler weather.
Does anyone know how to clone a person so there can be two of me? Not that the world could handle two :)
