Hello all,

I am new to this board; if I am out of line please feel free to let me know. I recently purchased a house with my wife that has a Fireplace and a pellet stove.

The Pellet Stove is a Harman P68 and was in the house when we moved in. We haven't used the stove and are looking to sell it to someone in the Midwest(we are in MN) that is interested in picking up versus trying to plan the logistics to ship it. The stove looks to be in great condition. The unit is only a few years old I have the paperwork from when it was originally purchased. . I have had many low ball offers(under $250). I would have kept the stove if we didn't have a nice wood fireplace

I felt my ad was getting lost in the Craigslist universe; if this is not the place to post I apologize. I was simply looking for a connection on a forum about pellet stoves.

Thanks,

Jason

Wish you weren't Midwest, I might be interested. It looks to be in great shape. Someone else would be better at giving you a price. I just priced a new one...$3800. Of course you're not going to get that but I'd think half that or so.

That P-68 will throw 10 times as much heat as your wood fireplace. Just sayin.

Hi Jason, where are you located in Minn? Depending on location I may be interested.

Keep the stove... but if you insist on selling it. I'll give you $500. and have it shipped home. Thanks

Rona,

I am located in Winona, MN - I have a craigslist post we are asking $1800 OBO for everything including the Pad.

Thats a very good price.

Keep the stove. You arent doing yourself a favor by selling it.

$1,800 is a fair price for the stove and pad. People who low ball are people who couldn't afford it anyways.

You should post it in the For Sale section here.. Also, waiting until around heating season will bring serious buyers. Don't sell a boat in the Winter and don't sell a stove in the Summer.

As others have said, the fireplace will equate in a heat loss.... The pellet stove will add heat (cheap) and do so in an automatic manner.

Welcome to the forum. Stick around and you may want to make that stove stick around. As its one of the BEST in the industry. Literally. The Harman P-68 is a stove that makes other stoves chit the bed. ;)

John193 I seriously would keep it if it wasn't for the setup of the house. It is a split level tuck under garage and where it is located it is extremely well insulated. The bottom family room has the pellet stove and unfortunately it takes up to much space in its current location. It is placed in the mid part of a wall and its not that the stove and pad take space its the fact that it makes an additional area on each side wasted.

I would much rather deal with someone in the Midwest that would be willing to haul it. I also want it to go to someone that is going to use it or find a good home for a quality stove. Most offers have been low ball offers for people wanting it for a second heating source in a garage. I had one person tell me "I see its been on craigslist awhile I am not trying to be rude but I will give you $100".... We live in an area where LTL trucks would have an extremely hard time getting in to grab it. We have had offers form the New England region for $2200. Several resellers in that area (NH, MA, etc..) have been willing to pay this much I just do not want to deal with the hassle of shipping, placing it on a pallet etc..

Willing to let it go for $1800 if someone hauls it; however willing to negotiate on price to an extent.

Stove sales will pickup when the temperature's hit 50s at night and you don't have to run the AC during the day.

If you look around you could get it trucked to east cost for probably 250.00. You have a popular brand and model so you should be able to sell it for your price out there. The low price of nat gas hurts pellet stove sales around most large towns. Towards fall the demand will be higher. With present temps in the 90s people are more concerned with paying the AC electric bill then looking for a stove for heat.

It's not that I wouldn't be inclined to sell to east coast where I live wouldn't be easy for an ltl truck to get in and out. I figured at this price it wouldn't be hard to move regionally. I posted it on the for sale section.

You could also try eBay and mark the item for local pickup. The advantage to this is greater exposure and you could reach buyers who don't have the cash but could pay you via PayPal.

I believe it was sold a couple weeks ago. There are some ruffer looking Harmans around the state though.
