Been thinking with all the posts thissel is putting up about old Macs I thought about my work saw. Went and got it out of the storage area.

Pretty sure it needs fuel lines as they rotted out. If it needs to much work I'll take it in. I'm not footing the bill for their saw. But I have it and can use it. Tiny top handle saw!!

that's not a Mac.;)

I got a freebie last week - Now retired carpenter who's a member of parents church,he had a mid '90's 35cc consumer/homeowner model that 'didn't work,he didn't need & was just sitting around..."

Asked him what he wanted for it,told me "Its yours, free!" :) So I cleaned it up,all it needed was a new fuel line (had a couple feet of that in my stash) and a new primer bulb ($8.70 for OEM model with free postage) Now just need the spare time to get it going, should be a handy little screamer for pruning/small stuff. Not too bad for a free saw.....

Where's the chain brake???? _g

It never had one. That's one of the first years of production, chainbrakes werent available for that model until the last 2-3 years.1974-77.I started using saws over 30 years ago,not many saws had them back then. The few that did it was a factory option.McCulloch was the first maker to offer them on a wide scale though.

My "mac " do sent have a brake either, just a hand gaurd as its a homeowner saw.. and I Google it, there black and gold ;-)

Anyway, I got it running. After a mouth full of gas I diagnosed that the duel line was good. Man I like one fuel line compared to a gazillion on new stuff. I then expected a busted. Diaphragm in the Carb. It looked fine. Then I thought a clogged pulse port?? Then I saw it had a needle so o pulled it apart and as I expected when I saw it the needle was stuck.
Took a bit of priming bit I got it running. Been 4 Yeats or so since it ran, maybe 3?
