Spent way too much on guns this year, so no new saw until possibly Christmas, maybe end of tax season. However, I am trying to figure out what I want. Looking at something lightweight just for limbing and cutting up the small stuff to use as kindling. I have been debating between the 192 and 201, and was going to go with the 201, but I was at the dealer the other day and saw the new addition of the 150. Believe it is 2 pounds lighter than the 201 with less power. Just wondering if the difference in power would be noticeable on the small stuff. Also wondering if I should wait to see if Stihl comes out with an M-tronic version for it. Of course, the big concern is whether the 150 is a complete pile of poo and a complete waste of my time.

150 seems like it could be a nice saw......Now 2012 was the year to spend on guns. 2013 your paying way to much! _g

The 150 is getting some positive buzz so far. Makes a 192 look big and feel heavy. ;lol

Sounds like it might be what you're after, after all. The 150 is a "pruning" saw. Light and zippy but not for knocking apart 12" branches. The 200/201 is designed to take apart the big stuff along with being "light enough" to take up the tree for extended periods.

Unlike the 192, the 150 is built as a pro saw, split case and removable top end. The 192 is a clamshell design. The price will reflect that too but if you were still going after a 201, I'm sure you'd be ok with the 150's price tag.

Buddy has one. But he is not a tree guy he is a landscapper kind of, not sure why he bought a pro saw to pull out 7 times a year?? Maybe I can pick it up from him in a few years for $100!!

Any year but 2013 was the year to buy guns. Problem is, Maryland decided to ban a bunch of them and require a Handgun Qualification License come October 1, 2013. So, the state forced my hand. Figured the more I spent on them, the greater the likelihood of the bill being found unconstitutional in about 5 years. Looking at houses in Texas now, but it might be too hot there for me.

I had my life time permit for a long time now.

I have seen those and they are an interesting idea. its almost like a pole saw without the pole. its about the same cc's as a weedeater and uses the same small bar as the pole saws. I think the 201's are way over priced unless you are a pro and use it everyday. but if you have the money then go for the 201. if you are using it occasionally then you may look at other options. there is a guy here near Cincinnati that gets the 201's really performing well
