FV, too hot for me, but I'd love to split the difference in temps. Too rainy, too damp almost all summer here. Glad the wife had the foresight to bring in wood a few weeks ago, everything outside is a sopping wet sponge right now.

I should probably finish cleaning it out. I ran the brush down when I was on the roof a few weeks ago, but still need to clean behind the cat.

Tempted, but no (unless you count the outside fire pit). We have had two frost warnings this month so far, but I refused to engage the cat. However, my buddy has had two fires so far...his wife starts their stove when it gets chilly.

I had one last night. Woke up yesterday to 17 in the house. Looked at the weather forecast and it is getting to 5 overnight. So, lit a fire last night and a very comfy 20 this morning. Supposed to have another couple nights at 5 overnight.
Winter is a comin'.
Good thing I only need one more truck load of wood for my 10 cords.

Burn early and burn often. It's not a waste of wood if you are able to keep the windows closed.

We're still hot in the NW but some years, we are already burning daily at this time. Soon we will be again. I already notice it is dark much earlier.

Today felt like the hottest day of the summer 91 and getting hotter,high expected to be 93. Hazy ,hot and humid. 68 overnight tonight.
May be awhile. Has to be in the 30s overnight and 50s or lower daytime before the house goes below 70.

The weather in northwest Oregon is ridiculous. This time last year I seem to remember burning. It's 95 outside right now!

Wow, Hillsboro is at 96F. We had a nice Sept last year, but not this warm. Only 68F here so far, 80F in Seattle. Nice and comfy.

History tells me that my first "eager to burn" fire is likely for me in the first week of October, then 'real' burning about 2 weeks later. Then again, I don't recall running the A/C this late in the summer in the past either, we had it on for two days this week (humid (70%) and 90's outside). Only one hurricane so far (barely qualified) out there... glad I don't rely on weather predictions for my survival!

Wood is stacked and ready to go whenever we need it. Won't fill the inside racks until after first hard freeze to reduce the bug count, but perhaps I'll bring a handful of small stuff in for that "first fire" and leave it in the stove ready to go (bugs can camp out in the stove if they like). Hmm... I could have some fun with that if it is cooler this weekend, make the family think I'm about to light up, heh.

Like Waulie, I had a fire (mighta' been 2) in July and a couple last month.
Started one about 40 minutes ago with some small kindling, and just added 2 chunks of pine.
Mom's staying with us for a while, and she thinks it's chilly when the house gets down to 70.
I like fire, so no problem. Waaay early for us, but I put up tons of kindling for this year.

Our stove is ready and i asked the Mrs if she wanted me to bring enough wood for a morning fire. She said no so if it is cold in the morning, we'll cuddle.
