My 05 slt1554 has an issue with the deck belt popping off all the time, nothing is bent and still it just pops off while mowing, any ideas as to what is going on here.

How old is the belt? Is it stretched out? Are all of the pullies spinning freely? Is it a timing type belt? A friend of mine had a Cub Cadet with a timing belt and he could not keep it on. A CC rep found another mower deck (regular V belt) and replaced it.

PM Master Mechanic......he lives up to his name!;)

Belt is 1 yr old and its the deck belt for the blades, everything spins as it should. There is nothing more aggravating than mowing and stopping to put the belt back on.

If one of the cords in the belt is broken, it can react that way. It may not even be visible to the eye. It allows for un-even loading from top to bottom of the belt and can cause it to jump off. Try replacing the belt. Even if that is not the cause - you have a spare hanging in the garage for when you need it.

When does it pop off? Randomly? Or when you shut down the deck? Start-up?

And bearings bad on the pulley.....a little wobble perhaps? Had that on my Ariens and the blt would keep popping off after 3-4 minutes.

It comes off when mowing mostly in taller grass.
Check the pulleys. If they are worn out, the spindle bearings have excessive play, the belt will slip and pop off under load. If the tensioner is binding or the spring is incorrect, same symptoms.
