Good evening peeps!! Just wondering what recommendations you have for a lube for the door hinges? The insert is 2-3 years old in great shape and am replacing the gaskets, but have no clue on what to use for the hinges. Thanks in advance for the help!!

I use graphite powder.

After experimentation with various lubes I settled on 90 weight gear oil. It has more staying power than light oils and doesn't chalk up like grease.

I used graphite powder on primary air control - worked great.

thanks for the post - it's reminder for me to put a bit on the hinges as well, when I'm installing the new gasket this weekend

Thanks for all the responses!! I think I am going to try graphite if I already have some, if not, going to try the high temp anti seize!!

Even if you don't have any, graphite powder is available in small tubes for $3 or so. I bought some last fall to use on two woodstoves [their hinges]. Graphite is also available in spray cans in a more liquid form. I have that, too, and it is also useful for regular door hinges and gates and locks and so on. The liquid seems to penetrate farther if you have larger hinges. A small tube or spray can will likely last you for years.

I bought the tube of powder at either Lowe's or Home Depot, don't remember which one.

Or in a pinch couldn't you just rub a pencil lead against the hingepin, that's been mentioned here before, iirc.
