Well I took y'all's advice and got to swinging!!!

Real purdy. Nice score. Wish there was walnut around here.

I donate the uglies that won't readily split to a brother with a splitter ( and a big fire pit) .
Life's too short for uglies although a challenge can be fun every now and then.

One quick question I've got a bunch of imperfect pieces left some pretty large and not sure about how to process cut/split them. Any advice would be great. Here are a few pictures for reference.

Imogene the Chihuahua for scale. ;)

You can still cut some off those crotches. They will be short but that is okay as they are still useable. If they are cut right, you have lots of good wood there. On that first one, I hate to see them cut this way as there is much waste. Knowing how to cut limbs and crotches right seems to be something most have to learn but once learned, it makes both the cutting and splitting go much easier. Hopefully that will be another video making task for me this coming winter when we start cutting.

I would noodle those Y shaped uglies right down the middle then try to split them

Great job and great pictures....

That stack is a thing of beauty. Admiring them never gets old.

I have almost all uglies. I scrounge leftovers. A half dozen wedges and a sledgehammer make for a nice puzzle and exercise session.

nice score, and good on you for following through on the advice posted here too.

And check out that little dog! awesome..haha

And those big ugly bits left over I just burn on a bon fire and sip some beers. But I dont know how much room you have and if its appropriate to have a big ass fire...

Cut them up in piece's , time for noodling 1 0 1

I love me a good challenge plus I worked to hard for all of this wood and don't have a buddy with a splitter ;)
