I'm doing a corner install. If I 45 out of the stove thru the wall the stove has to stick way the hell out in order to get 12" of clearance from the inside corner that is outside the room. ..hopefully that makes sense. I want to push the stove into the corner more but in order to do that I would have to move the thimble (harman direct vent kit) over a stud bay which forces me to use (2) 90s...not a big deal but the harman is pretty vague in the book on how many is acceptable.
So here is my venting if I push the stove to were I want it:
Duravent Pelletvent pro 3"
Out of stove...horizontal...
Appliance adapter
45
90
12"
90
12"...thru the wall outside...
Clean out Tee...vertical to
18"
90
Horizontal cap

Sound ok???
I still have room to get behind the stove if need be. I could eliminate the tee and run the horz cap and then to clean just remove the cap...but I have an inside corner outside and figured I'd run the tee with a short vert to help cut soot down, if any.
I'm just worried about the 90s...too close?? Ash catchers?? PIA to clean?? Restriction?? ...???

Best way to get a stove in the corner without going vertical?

The general rule of thumb is to avoid as many bends as you can. I got lost trying to follow your bends... lol
I don't think anyone here regrets having some space to work on their stove, and most wish they had more.

Get yourself a set of heat shields. 9” clearance :)

How bout putting all of your rise outside? Eliminates 2 90's and looks cleaner inside.

manual says you don't need heats...I think I'm at 10.5" where they say 9" in the pic

...can't exit the wall with the stove pushed in the corner that far, the vent will be too close to the inside corner.

...and here is a stupid question....why did Harman make there vent kit with a 3" OD oak when their stove is 2 5/8"?

Vent straight up thru the roof.

Oh, I see. I hastily read the first post (at work;)) So you have an inside corner, outside. Tough situation. Can you put the thimble up higher and over in the next bay? Say 3' off the floor...then "hide" the thimble with a plant or something? Once you get through the wall, put a 45, an 18" and the cap. All your rise would be inside and may be enough to overcome the bends.

I apologize if I'm not understanding you correctly.. which I think I'm not. Are you saying move the thimble over a bay AWAY from the corner?

I had my local muffler shop make me an adaptor from 2 5/8 to 3". Makes life easier. Cost $7. Harman sells and adaptor for some stupid price like $50.

Like this picture. Why would having your exhaust vent up thru your ceiling and out the roof be illegal?

I think I came up with a hybrid of your idea that will work. Although it doesn't push the stove to its min clearances it's better than running a 45 then straight out. It's a little hard to explain but if I run out of the stove:
Appliance adp>90>45...then I can rotate the adapter down until the 45's face is parallel with the wall...then it's straight out. See pic and see if it makes sense. I think it will be ok tho

Looks like it'll work to me. Having the stove tucked tightly into a corner is very nice, and necessary in my situation, but working on it is a PITA. I think you'll appreciate having a bit of extra space.

It's a Harman...I don't plan on having to work on it :)

Give yourself room for service and maintenance

Just make sure you don't break the internal seal of the 45 if you rotate. I messed up the silicone seal inside a 90 once and it smoked the room out.

yup that's the fines box.

"My Ferarri never needs service"

said no one ever.

Looks to me like your EVL is somewhat north of 15'. which would necessitate 4" pipe. Duravent? ugh

...and here is a stupid question....why did Harman make there vent kit with a 3" OD oak when their stove is 2 5/8"?

because in the near future, they (the stoves) will all be 3" on the stove as well.......3" flexi is much easier to obtain than the old 2-3/8"

no.

illegal.
no, I dont think so. That being said, I dont like roof installs, as it adds more possible ussues to the install.....compromising the roof envelope for one, another being folks simply wont clean the pipe......

As shown, that would never pass code here. a pipe can go through the roof, but not inside through a floor like that as well. 1 structure hit point only. your area my vary.

Perfectly legal here, using the proper installation kits.
