Just great. I have about 4 cords cut and split for next year. I was trying to get another 2 cords together, but with snow and low, low temps coming, I don't know if I'm going to get a lot more cutting in! Dang!

I hear that! We've got winter here in Northern Kentucky like we've not seen in a few years and we've got, what, 10 days untill it's really winter. I've got some nice ash and oak rounds waiting to be tured into splits in a rack. The weather will get better....sometime!

Bad weather won't last forever , will be off cutting again soon :)

Don't let a little snow and cold air stop you. It still beats slapping mosquitoes and black flies.

Cold is no problem and the snow is only a problem if you load your truck so much that it wont move.
I cut last weekend when it was 0::Fand had to take off my coat to avoid sweating.

I cut and split in the cold and snow. The truck has other ideas though moving in the snow.

It's a lot better to cut and split in the cold, that's for sure! I don't like to cut if the footing is anything less than perfect though. Slipping with a running chainsaw is not my idea of fun!

Cutting in the cold isn't so bad. I landed a small scrounge this evening. I ran out of daylight. IMG_1800.JPG

I like cutting in the cold and the wife prefers me cutting in the cold. When the temps drop she doesn't have to beat the salt stains out of my work shirts.

I split about a half cord of maple in my driveway Sunday and didn't get a chance to stack it before it got dark...then it snowed...now I need to try and get it stacked before more snow Saturday!

Usually we re lucky enough that we don't really get snow til after the new year, but this year it's starting a lot earlier. Unfortunately, that's going to cut into production!
