Howdy all. Long time reader, first time poster.....well. Not really.

Anyway, I have an ancient and battered WP1 and it runs like a champ but the grate on top of the burn pot I have noticed is starting to crumble. Has anyone had to go about replacing this part? No one stocks them so it is looking like the aftermarket or hitting up welding shops. Figured I would ask around here first before seeing if anyone can fabricate a new one for the price of a new stove! _g Hate to retire this stove just because of a common wear item like a grate. I have an advantage II on reserve but it needs a rebuild. Any advice or leads would be appreciated. In the mean time I am gonna run it until the grate completely crumbles to dust.

Presuming you are talking about the burn pot liner, can you post some pics?

I bought one for my Whitfield at my local stove shop for about $40. They said they have them made locally, out of stainless steel.

Well, this is the trick. The WP2 has a much greater aftermarket. Since I am seeing by your signatures, that is your stove. They make conversion kits for the WP2 and the grates etc. The Legend WP1 is a bit more tricky. If you can give a lead on this stove shop that did local fab, it might help since I live in the Puget Sound area. I could maybe at least give them the dimensions of the grate and they could make one up if you are confident its a top notch outfit. The burn grate for a WP1 is actually tiny and allow some pellets to fall out. Will post picture soon.
