Not sure which model is the 1c. But I do know that there were side shelves available for the old Vigilants.

All Vig. I's and resolutes used the same warming shelf, the trick of course is FINDING one. Or two...

I really like our side shelves. Nice place to put the kettle while I'm refilling the top (top loading.

Quick question - on that parts picture for the shelf it shows 2 rods with spirally things at the top. What are those?!?! The previous owner left them and I never knew what they were.

They extend out horizontally on their holders. You can warm/dry mittens, cup towels, etc on them.

Most shelves are made of a steel grid. In the storage position, the rod are stuck down through the grid with the round coil spring on top, which keeps the rod from falling through. If you want to extend them to hang something on the rod, just pull the rod up. There is a right angled hook on the other end. This hook will catch on the grid and allow the rod to hang in a horizontal position. You can place it pretty much anywhere you like on the grid.

Yes, that will work just fine, or you can swing them around to the side, put the rod anywhere you want on the grid.
