I just installed a morso squirrel and during my first fire I noticed some smoke leaking from the flue collar joint. Any thoughts on what may be causing this? I installed the chimney pipe over the outside of flue collar (it was a super tight fit)...was this correct?

Also wondering about my elbow joint where the chimney pipe meets the insulated metalbestos that leads outside. I used a selkirk kit for the whole thing and purchased their 6in chimney pipe adapter to make this transition. The black chimney pipe fits over the pipe adapter (there is a solid 2 in overlap) and is secured with three screws. Does this look right to folks?

Any thoughts/tips much appreciated! Thanks!

Not sure but is this double-wall pipe with the crimp on the inner liner? If yes, is that pointed down toward the stove?

It is double walled, with crimp on the inner liner. And yes, that is pointed down toward the stove. Selkirk instruction manual seemed to say that the inner crimp should face down while the outer crimp faces up.

You've installed it correctly then.

The smoke could be due to weak draft or maybe just the paint baking in. Weak draft could be caused by a short chimney or one with several 90º turns, stove location (basement?), warm outside temps, or a combo of these factors.

How hot have you gotten the stove as measured on the stove top? What was the outside temp? What is the chimney setup.
