hello - I've had a mini for a few years and it'/ worked great. Now the auger makes 2 sounds. One is the sound of the auger turning, the other is a sound of it seeming to try to. On lower settings it stays on over night, on higher settings it goes out over night.

I emptied the stove, took off the auger co we and cleaned the auger. It looks great and does the same thing.

Ideas? THANKS!

A little more detail might help to yield a helpful response. Not sure what a "mini" is. Please tell us what the full name of the stove is. Auger noise for the most part means a dirty bearing which for the most part means replacement of the auger. Going out on the higher settings could mean that it is not feeding enough pellets due to auger issues. But as I said, we need more info to help. If you already figured it out please let us know. Thanks.

If the auger is making noises, could be the motor is on its way out. If it stops working on higher heat settings vs low heat settings, could be overheating and thermally protecting itself. How old is this Mini?? Might be time for a new auger motor.

For all's info- a mini is an Enviro European style stove, smallish footprint, taller in height ala Ravellis, Ecotecks etc...

Thank you! It's about 5 years old. What's crazy is it works..the auger puts pellets in the stove, it just does it at too slow a pace...or their is too might air...but all the air is closed off. It starts out strong, loads up the burn container, but then it just doesn't keep up as the pellets burn. It's like it's working at 75%.

Hi...so it's the Enviro Mini -- http://enviro.com/products/catalogue/product/?prod=Mini-A

Based on what you have posted thus far, and if it were my stove, I would replace the auger motor. Depending on which of the 12 different models of mini's you have they run about $120. Here is one on Amazon. Make sure you get the part number for your specific model. They may all use the same one but I'm not sure as I did not look at each manual. Good luck!!

Before changing the auger motor, pull out the whole auger assembly and clean the bronze bushing that are top and bottem. I usally have one or two customers a year with mini's that have simular complaints. Its 50/50 wether the bushing are binding and putting a load on the motor causing the over heat or the motors are going bad.
