Wow, pretty close! It's a little bit east of the Smokies, about a half hour on the other side of Asheville NC.

I've spent hundreds of hours aimlessly riding motorcycles in the Smokies. Time I'll never regret spending.
I'd love to live there...and will at least have a part time residence there.
Maybe its time for a career change so I can work from home and live anywhere I want...away from industrial towns.

Oh, and you're welcome to watch it as well, as long as you're not watching it burn. In your stove.

Just a quick postscript. I went strolling around outside with my wonderful wife yesterday because it was such a beautiful day. As we got to the area where I have the firewood stacked she said "looks like somebody here has a case of OCD." 
I guess I could take that as a compliment but I'm thinking that's her way of agreeing with the title of this thread!! 
So it would be good if the weather stays warm...that would certainly help remove the temptation to process any more wood for now.

OK, I started felling the standing dead instead of waiting for nature to take its course. Got a white oak, a hickory, and a small tulip poplar before it got too windy for comfort. The MC of the poplar was in the teens so I split it and put it with this season's wood. Got partway through splitting the other two. The hickory was in the high 20s MC and the white oak was, of course, in the 50-60% range. I'll split it small and hope it'll be ready to burn before it's time for me to move!
