well i purchased it, I just needed a little push :) going to pic it up tomorrow. Now i just gotta cal my buddy up this summer and we can do the install together. I think im gonna do the outside air kit with this one since this stove is above ground and much easier to install it.

Congratulations

You know, plenty of people here have two stoves. You'd be in elite club if you had THREE Kings...
I've ran 2 stove for about 7 years now, I enjoy it! I'm buying a new house here in a few weeks, it may just may need a king in basement! ::-)

Oooh, put it on a 4" flue and install a cold air return right over it. We still need the third one for The Basement King Trifecta.
I'm planning to use the cold air return as the flue! Any problems associated with that?;lol

None that I can see.

You may want to look into the new Jetsam Open Design Super Basement Stove, though. There is no requirement for a special flue or fancy dry wood. You simply send us payment, stuff the basement with flammables according to the instructions, and light. You can conveniently control combustion air simply by opening and closing windows! The kit includes complete instructions, a match, a liability waiver, and a certificate of authenticity.

Sign me up for one of those kits. You got yourself a buyer here. The only thing is that I need instructions for installation in the crawlspace cause I don't have a basement.;lol

I was so pissed that i coudlnt even think straight when i was taking the pictures. I was like this stove is just way too black.

WOW O WOW what a horrible experience and a waste of day I drove 2+ hrs away with my wife and daughter to pic up my King Ultra. I was told from the owner Matt of Saratoga fireplace and stove over the phone that the stove was barely used for one season and was the stores demo unit. I didnt ask a million questions as I had already done business with them and was happy before. But i did ask the conditon of it and he said it was practically brand new only fired a couple of times.

The stove was rusted all over and i was taken by shock. It had no fans on it and they freakin spray painted it to cover up all the surface rust it had on it. its like they left the stove outside for 5 years! The stove was made in 2012, freakin 2012 man, wouldnt you think that would be something to tell a customer when buying a stove and your telling them its practically brand new? On top of it I already turned down another company that had a leftover King Ultra, being the guy i am i wanted to give the place i know the business.

Sorry i am a business owner and i know it hurts to call a business put on the internet. but this was so wrong on so many levels. I go so much out of my way to take care of someone for a god dam 2 dollar coffee. I was spending 2675 for a Demo unit that was 5 years old and has no fans? Kiss my arse Matt I will never go your way again ever, I will also never send anyone your way. It would of been so much honorable for you to say hey this stove is this and that instead of being a con man.

So i spent 60 bucks in diesel and another 40 dollars for a trailer lol and wasted a whole day. The best part at least was i was with my family and we had family time on a road trip.

Sorry to hear that but at least, like you said, you had some family time. That's unbeatable

Thanks for posting up...one of the vital components of the free market is this type of feedback mechanism through which shady behavior can get the exposure it deserves. My local dealer just pulled a bait and switch on me the other day...quoted me one price, and when I went to pay for it, he "forgot" that the stove's MSRP doesn't include the door. In addition, we discussed that my installation requires the side shields per BK documentation, and yet that also wasn't included in the initial quote. What's a $500 more when you're rich like I am though, right? Lol.

As a result of that behavior, I just had the BK dealer from the neighboring town over to do a site survey and give me a quote.

Oh yeah, the whole "door is extra" bit is a weird one. You find what sounds like a good deal on a BK only too find out the door is not included. I bet you wouldn't get very far with a warranty claim if you "opted out" on the door.

Its one thing when someone no matter what in life makes a true error/mistake and you can see it on their face and its totally another when someone just straight tries to BS you or pulls the bait and switch.

i mean this has happenned to all of us in all types of different business setting. The dealers should be liable for their actions. Cause to be frank these type of problems is what takes away a good customer and stops him or her from buying certain products especially for a new customer. But they could care less about the long term.

The floor model question is certainly a thorny knot of a problem.

How many times have consumers gone into a brick and mortar store to look at and handle a thing, lessened the value of the floor model, and then bought a brand new one cheaper on the internet?

The mfr wants enough display models out there to get exposure so consumers buy the product.

The B&M owner thats paying the light bill and plowing the parking lot and taking the depreciation hit on his floor stock is gwtting screwed short term.

But long term, the consumer is self screwing, that is choosing short term price without respect to long term variety of selection.

Im not understanding what your saying. Every display model in the world gets sold or given away, they dont get thrown away. We all have expenses and its the stores choice to sell a display model, know one is forcing them to do so. What the manufacturer and the dealer have going on is their business as a customer I do not care about that.

What im talking about is clearly stated, DECEPTION AND LIES. You talk about parking lots and paying lights bills right, what you think the rest of us dont pay this also? Maybe thats why my family has been so successful for over 32 years in business, i kiss every customers ass that comes threw my doors. I choose to buy a floor model so im self screwing myself?

Posting it here is one good step, in that direction. Although not typically of the same ilk that end up hanging around this joint for a few years, most people searching for woodstoves end up here, reading these posts in research of their prospective brand or model. Calling out this shady business not only hurts that dealer, but hurts BK in a smaller way, when people steer clear of a brand due to poor dealerships.

I also had one bad experience with a BK dealer, and while I didn't post all of the details of it here, I made sure to let BKVP know about it. On the heels of that, I had a very good experience with another BK dealer, and I continue to use them now to service my stoves and chimney. Likewise, I made sure BKVP knows these guys (Fireplace and Chimney Pros in Kintersville) are doing a great job.

Well said. Retail sales over the internet and big box stores have certainly put it to many small businesses.

I love my stove and the company Blaze King have been excellent. Unfortunately we all know they cannot control all the dealers.

You and bholler both moving and looking for more cat stoves. Sheesh.
I might be moving and if I am not happy with the performance of my regency I might look at a bk. Like I always said I have nothing against Bk stoves just they didn't fit my needs at the time. But honestly it is looking like the deal may not go through the seller just wants to much I am willing to come up some from what I want to pay but I am not paying what they want considering the work that needs done.

So when you feel you were wronged there is no problem outright bashing a company but when people have some problems with blaze kings they cant even ask questions without you jumping on them???? You don't find that even a little bit hypocritical.

48deg damp, cool breeze with the mountain tops a bit foggy.... you guessed it, lighting the stove up for a flash fire

I didnt post a THREAD TITLE that stated something negative just to gather peoples attention, i also didnt rant for 50 pages like others have without proof, i also did not post rants about something not working when my own setup is at fault. I also did not appear because of a rant and did not dispear the minute the rant is over. your words are false those people did not ask questions and those people have disapeared.

Even with the bad cat, my fire is burning pretty good, keeping the air setting at 4 o clock, getting 3 hour burn times, but not that much smoke.
