Super wood score

I get all of my wood for free. Most of it i get on my owne from Neighbors and the farmers that are around me. The kids and i are a real team when it comes to the wood scores, we take whole trees back to the gouse to be processed. I also have a friend who ownes a tree service. A couple of times a year i get a call, asking if i want any wood and just come and take what you want. Today i came home to this in my driveway. I got a call from him saying, he had some extra and he droped it off at my house. I got home and this was what he droped off.. its all cherry and oak... i didn't have to work for it at all... the log lenths are like 7 to 10 feet long..

Thats what made me so happy. Usually you get the leftovers. Twisted, crotchety, gnarly stuff. This is streaght beautiful just cut to lenth and split wood. This last load wull definitely put me to the brim with wood

It's funny how different locations have different markets. In my neck of the woods, those cherry logs would be worth good money at a local band saw mill or as bbq wood. Then again, we don't grow really impressive black cherry trees like you guys do in New England and the Mid-West. I've never seen a cherry tree that large which wasn't rotten in the middle this far south.

I am in new jeresy... and the cherry aroud here is great. Last year a farmer gave me a cherry when he was clearing a Hedgerow it was 27 inch. Got alot of heat out of that on....

So I got the pile cut and quartered this weekend. Lost alot of time due to the rain yesterday and 2 games of flag football that my son played, but i am ready to split this week.. will be ready to stack for next weekend...
