Just moved to New England from the northwest. Thinking of finding a new douglas fir brand. Do any of you old time New Englanders have any recommendations?

All the Douglas Fir pellets you will find here on the East Coast are hauled in from you old stumping grounds. The majority of the ones you will find are West Coast brands that are being rebagged and sold on the East Coast for a large price tag. Companies like Norther Warmth and Oakies do not manufacture their own pellets. The pellets in their bags are mostly rebags of other brands. Probably the Douglas Fir pellets you are used to are in one of their bags but be prepared to pay alot more than you did on the West Coast.
What stove will you be using? You may want to save the money spent on the Doulas firs and experiment with some east Coast Hardwood pellets or one of the Softwood varieties.

Thanks for the feedback MtDew. I'd prefer sticking with a Fir. My neighbor said Northern Warmth has Bear Mountains fir in their Supreme Douglas Fir bag. Do you know who's fir pellet is in WoodPellet.com's Okie fir bag?

Thanks for the info FMSM. As an engineer I tend to ask a million questions before making a decision (my better half said I'm a pain in her neck).
I know from spending many years in the northwest that Okanagan does not manufacture a pellet. Does anyone know who's pellet Woodpellet.com is putting into this Okie bag?

I know Royal Fireside in Mendon MA has them. I talked to Harris Energy in Littleton NH, and they said they'll get their shipment next week

Unfortunately, Kirley's will not have our brand this heating season, but feel free to visit Gilmore's in Walpole, MA or Family Pet and Garden Center in Pembroke, MA!

To the original poster, I burned 2.5 tons of Packsaddle DF pellets last year and they were EXCELLENT. I had been burning Blazer DFs the two previous years and the pack saddles were far cleaner and a touch hotter. This is in a breckwell stove.
Early last season, I purchased two bags of each softwood or premium blend pellets I could find local (I'm in SE MA). I tested 5 different brands, and found the packsaddles to be cleanest and hottest. They are not cheap, but I can justify the added cost for higher BTU and a cleaner pot.

I also have not tried the okie DF option yet. If they are selling in Walpole, I might have to grab a couple bags and test before I put in this year's order.
