Hi I am going on my second year burning pellets. I bought a new vogelzang vg5790 last year and tried several different brands. The bags of the tractor supply pellets and I bought a ton of AWP Appalachian hardwoods pellets and they were terrible. Lots of black soot on the glass. I used Ecoblaze pellets and they burned amazing. I bought a used Harman P68 to use this year and I'm getting ready to stock up. I have the opportunity to buy Hamers hot ones at $185 per ton but I hear alot of bad reviews from last year's batch. Barefoots for $200 a ton or Ecoblaze for $200 per ton. What would you guys suggest I go with?

I burn Hamers almost exclusively. IMO, they cost a little more but are worth the difference. Burnt about 4.5 tons last year without a hitch. Have 4 more tons coming next Saturday. If you can get the for $185 a ton, to me, it's a no brainer. I'm paying $285 plus delivery.

How are you getting these prices? The cheapest pellets I can get is from the box stores at $259, everything else is $20 more or over.

Barefoots $200 per ton coverage.com located in currysville pa. Ecoblaze $215 per ton pretty much year round price I hear they are $200 per ton at Tussey mountain mulch in roaring springs pa

Well there is a major difference between the stove you used last season and the Harman you just purchased. The Harman will burn just about anything you buy. My vote would be the Barefoots!
That's what I was leaning towards. I like the Ecoblaze but this is new to me and for all I know they could still be mediocre pellets. It it weren't for the bad reviews from last season's batch I'd go for the Hamers. I hear they burn very hot yet fast. The vogelzang stove actually did very well it was just very picky on what it burned and it was ugly and probably wouldn't last all that long.
