New to stoves, please help me

Its called rutland stove cement and i got it from tractor supply. I used daravent and I taped all joint even at the elbow

its new and your going to get some burn-in smoke/smell. open windows air it out. don't open the window by your stove pipe. what are the settings on the stove set to

the cement you used is to glue rope and band seals/gaskets, not really meant for stove seal. but i suppose it will work just be a pain when you take the pipe off the stove.

Blowers at 9 and heats at 9 which look like max temps

That stove design has been around a long time,works well.Post a picture of the "vent thing" you are talking about.If you did not burn the stove outside,you will get some smoke,from paint and oils,inside.

thats not a bad fire. It takes a little while for the stove to get up to temp and it is its first fire so don't get discouraged. your going to have to learn the stove settings to fine tune to your liking. now every time you change a setting it takes 30-40 min for the stove to adapt. its slow but you'll be happy when the bugs are worked out

Well its heating now.. just worries me a little seeing as here in buffalo we go thru nasty single digit temps.

Haha well I guess I thought it would heat up to temp faster but shes getting there... when I clean her in the morning i better do it fast, god forbid i go more then an hour with no heat going, may take another two hours to get back up to temp haha

Several things-1 you should have at least 3 foot vertical rise in your exhaust,per manual.2-you should have installed the parts for outside air,per manual, 3--MOST important--you are missing the impingement plate that covers the big hole behind the flames,will never get good heat without it.

Yes it has 3 foot piping inside and yes thats a fresh air vent.. ok so thats what that is, an impigement plate.. il have to close that but for now shes giving decent heat,unless its dangerous leaving it halfway open like that?. thanks for all this help guys, my anxiety is supressing

Easy to find the smoke leaks. Bring a flash light and have the room dark as evening. Then turn stove on. Look at all your joints on the exh pipe with the flash light and you will find the leaks. I use high temp clear silicone over any joints but you can also use high temp tape. One problem with buying a stove out of the area is no service. But having said that you should find a phone number to call and a company rep will help you suggest answers to your problem.. A good idea would be to find someone who is using a stove like yours and ask them for advice.

Is it just me or are these things massivly infficient. Im burning one full 40lb bag every 14 hours, and the settings are l for heat and 2 for blower. Am I doing something wrong or am I looking at spending nearly 10 dollars a day to heat my tiny home..

Nat gas is almost always the better choice,right now.

Check the bottom 3 numbers (buttons below heat and blower buttons)

Also check what mode your stove is in. Should be set to D mode.

A quick search on this site for englander 25pdvc will provide tons of information.

I have the same stove and use a bag about every 22 hours on medium heat settings.
