pellet stoves be used in mobile home

Some are rated for use in a mobile home, some are not. Most (if not all) require installation of an Outside Air Kit (OAK) when installed in a mobile home. You will have to check the installation instructions for the stove(s) you are interested in. Also may depend on the codes for you town (CA can be more restrictive than other states it seems). Additionally, check with your insurance to see if they will cover, and if it will add to your premium.

The biggest problem you will have is with your insurance company. When I switched carriers the agent said to take pictures of the home at angles that hide the chimney. If they don't ask questions you tell no lies.

The main requirements for any solid fuel appliance in manufactured homes are the HUD requirements. Must use outside air, must be firmly attached to the floor and must be certified for mobile home use by the manufacturer.

It makes no difference if you are going to be moving the home or not. Ya gotta bolt the stove down. Mobile home approved stoves have the provision for doing that.

California has some extreme enviromental regulations. I would no be surprised that some regs as to spark abatement, how close to other dwellings just to name a couple.

I too am looking for Info on mobile home installations. I am a DIYer and I’m looking to ground the new stove I bought as it keeps blowing the fuse. Should I just drill a hold in the floor and run copper ground wire directly to the frame? And where should I attach it to the stove, as there’s no clear place for a ground wire on the stove? Thanks for any help at all!!

What fuse is blowing? Fuse in the stove or The breaker for the outlet?

There are four fuses on my particular stove. Two are on the outside, underneath. It is a 1 amp 250V fuse that blows after 10-15 minutes of run time. I’m pretty sure it’s because I’m not grounded yet.

My initial guess would be the auger motor fuse. Either way, lack of grounding should not cause the fuse to open.
