I acquired a 25-PDV/55-SHP22 a couple days ago. The unit was manufactured in 2001. I was told the top auger motor had gone out. I bought a new motor and verified that it worked by hooking up to the bottom auger connection and then installing. I have now installed the new motor in the top spot correctly as outlined by the video on the site. Problem is now, I start it up and I am not getting no feed from the top auger or movement at all. Everything else starts up according to the manual correctly (bottom auger moving and blower blowing). And tonight while I was out verifying the wiring, my stove will not shut off unless I unplug it. I am starting to think it is the control board now is my problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also to point out, their are no vacuum switches on the stove nor a hole in the louvers for the vacuum switch. I don’t see anywhere where they could have been in the stove. Can anyone verify that stoves were manufactured without them?

Welcome to the forums babybullphs33. First thing you want to check is the hoses going to the vacuum switches and make sure they are not cracked or split. Then check the vac port inside the fire box on the rt side wall it is a very small hole use a paper clip or toothpick to clean it out. The vacumm hose that goes to that port you can see through the rt side vent opening. Let us know what you find
I have checked all that you listed per the owners manual. The unit doesn’t seem to have any vacuum switches at all and their is no port I could see in either side of the unit. The previous owner said he pulled the unit from his home and stored it and changed nothing on it. I am stumped. Were any units ever made with out those features or were they more than likely removed at some point?

Also, on my control board their is a hook up for a vacuum switch but I hand no extra wires in the unit to hook up and now rubber vacuum hoses to be found at all. The unit is not a auto light if that matters.

Ok here is the owners manual for pre 2004 25-pdv and it is supposed to have a vacuum switch that operates the upper auger. So im thinking somebody has removed it. Check for some screw holes on the lt side wall or in the framework in the rear and a couple spare wires

Ok so if there isn’t a vacuum switch in the mentioned locations, would I need to purchase one and where would be the best source for one for my stove?

Their was just the two prongs for the wires to plug in to and a piece between them. No wires to be found though.

I would call englande stove works on monday morning around 8am and they can verify if it was supposed to have one. Im pretty sure it’s supposed to. To test the stove you could connect the 2 pins with a jumper wire and see if the stove works. But I wouldn’t run it unsupervised. If it doesn’t work you may need a control board
I did connect the two wires and stove operated but still no movement from the top auger. It ran for over 20 mins.

It may very well be a bad control board. Follow the wiring diagram in the manual and make sure everything is connected properly. And somewhere on the back wall of the firebox see if you can find a tube/nipple for a hose connection
Ok. I have the same stove but mine was made in 2004. There is hose that many overlook on that model. It is behind the vent cover on the right hand side of the stove while you are facing the stove. Midway up. Is that hooked up and not cracked?
Their is no rubber vacuum hose anywhere in the whole stove. I pulled both louvers off and looked all through it. Also no vacuum switches to be found anywhere.

Thanks for the help BackDoc. I am stumped on it. I have read the manual and everything. I don’t have it inside yet due to wanting to be sure it is fully operational. I was able to feed it last night manually and ran it for over 30 mins last night. I just can’t figure it out to get it to feed. I am almost to the conclusion it’s the control board but hope now being it’s pretty much the most expensive thing to replace on it.

If you want to send your board to me i can test it in my stove. If its something small like a triac or optoisolater i might be able to repair, or we could talk you through the testing of the board and maybe repair yourself if your comfortable with your soldering skills.
I am comfortable with soldering and electrical if I have guidance. If you can offer any guidance on the situation, it would be greatly appreciated. I would be available this evening to go through a couple things or check through the suggestions you may have.

You will need a multimeter. And pull the board out of the stove. Nice well lit work area, a magnifying glass. And you will need a few of these if you have any pellt stove

Did you try jumping the high limit snap disc switch? if that failed open it will shut off the top auger. when you get the board out and removed from the carrier box take a good picture of the top and bottom to post here so we can see what you have.

Did you already buy a control board? I just realized I have a spare one that is completely functional however it was shorted out due to a bare wire touching the exhaust housing and the exhaust fan runs all of the time even after cool down cycle. I had to unplug the stove or the fan ran constantly. I replaced my board. Like I said it is 100% functional other than that. I could send it to you and see if it fixes your issue. If so, you could buy a new board and mail my old one back. Just a thought.
