Have been seriously considering gasification Boilers and curious on what the top notch brands are and some feedback reviews for them. I have looked at:
Polar Furnace
Heatmore G series
Central Boiler Edge 750
Woodmaster Cleanfire

Any feedback wood be great! I currently have a Woodmaster 5500 that does a good job, but would just like to upgrade a little. Plus, the wife is all for it so far, so why not.

Tarm, Froling, Wood Gun, Garn, Econoburn, Vedolux. There are many more, but may be more information about your current setup will help others give a better recommendation. Are you currently using storage?

I think my next one will be a Froling, but storage would be first if I did not have it.

There are a few Heatmaster G-series users here that reportedly have had good results. I am considering one but would want to install in an outbuilding and use with additional storage - but it sounds like it would be a unique install and have not found anyone that is using one in a similar fashion. On another site I found user(s) with one installed in an outbuilding but it seems to have required an additional vent hood to prevent smoke in the building during some reloads. Not sure I want to deal with that.

several indoor boilers have draft induction fans that all but eliminate smoke roll-out during re-loading. Since you are planning to put the boiler indoors and use thermal storage anyway, you may want to consider one of them.

I am, the Effecta Smart 55 is near the top of the list ;-)

I have an Econoburn 200 outdoor model that in have in a separate building with storage.
Built like a tank, great customer service, simple controls that can be over ridden if you have storage and an issue with the controller.Oh and great warranty.
I live 100 miles from any boiler techs or company that works on heating systems. So i am the boiler tech and repair company.Prior to the system i built i never had anything to do with hydronic heating.
Cleaning the flue tubes used to be a hassle, now it is a easy task taking less than 2 hours from start to finish.

the G-200 has a big fire box, and if you open the door when it's near the beginning of a burn you are going to get smoke. the inducer fan will take care of nearly all of it, but you'll get smoke out of the effectas too. or probably any other gasser other than a garn (because of that huge airflow rate)
there's no reason to open the door unless you have done something silly. I don't open the door of mine except to load, and almost never get any appreciable smoke out the door.
there's nothing wrong with doing the G-series with storage, it's just that it doesn't need it. the internal 200 gallons seems to be plenty. most of the euro boilers that really need storage have 30 gallons or less volume internally.

I have a heatmaster g200. I am on my third season with it. I went from a hardy h4 Conventional before but in 12-13 cords to just under or just over 7 cords per season depending on weather. The g200 is well very well built and simple. It is 409 stainless. It has vertical hx tubes, no horizontal tubes to brush. The vertical tubes have turbulators that also have a shaker handle on them to shake any ash off the tubes. After three season I don't have any creosote on the tubes. I clean out the reaction chamber after each cord burned. The g200 likes splits between 4-8 inches with mc around 25 percent. I have burned some green wood to see how it did and found that as long as you run about a 4 inch coal bed I had no issues. I know some with the g series run straight green wood all the time. Although they lose some efficiency they have had no ill effects. Although you might be able to squeeze some more efficiency out of the boiler using it as a batch Burner with more storage it seems that te 200 gallons of onboard storage does great. I don't know how much less wood than 7 cords per year I could burn with 2800 sqft 220 year old house in New Hampshire.

Hello, I'm new to this forum. I have a Heatmaster G200. I am coming to the end of my first heating season. Overall I am very pleased with the unit. I am heating 4500 sqft in SE Michigan.
