Harman XXV auger motor,sprocket & chain removal & replacement

I'm looking for a video that shows how to remove & replace the auger motor,sprockets, chain & the auger itself. I've been getting banking noises this winter and found that the set screw on the auger motor sprocket was loose. After tightening the set screw it got significantly better but still does it, just less frequently.

So before I start pulling things apart I would like to see how it's done. re: is this a pretty straight forward procedure, just pull apart and replace or should I be concerned with timing issues, proper sequence for installing the sprockets & chain, etc.?

I have tried to find such a video but have not been able to find one. If anyone knows where I can find a video or any other suggestions it will be appreciated. Thanks

Not sure about videos but it’s pretty straightforward. Just loosen the white rubber tension pull ( or tighten it if it’s loose and that may fix it) and then loosen the set screws on the sprockets. The sprockets and the chain are probably worn and need replaced. If you have the motor bracket with the rubber grommets you may need to replace it to as they redesigned that since the grommets wore out and allowed too much play

I just replaced one the other day. No timing envolved just get the tensioner snug when you put it back on. The two sprockets in the updated kit are the same size now.

I started hearing similar noises in my P61A a few weeks ago...Since I replaced the combustion motor and fan blade last year, I assume it's not a worn bearing in the new motor. After reading this thread, I'm wondering if maybe I have an issue with the auger and/or the sprockets, tensioner, etc.....

Are the P61A parts mentioned similar to the XXV? If so, is it safe to assume the P61A also has no issue with timing? My P61A is a 2013 by the way....Thanks for any help, gang.....

No timing on the P61a and there are no sprockets and chain on the P61a either. So it is very easy to pull the P61a auger and give it and the auger chute a good cleaning! Also according to Harman it is no longer necessary to add high temp silicone on the base of the auger when replacing the auger in the stove.
