... With minimal enjoyment. Some of us have slightly higher expectations than simply getting there.

Like I said, stick to something you actually know about, cars are clearly not your forte.
Geez dude, chill out...

Hey bhollar, you have any interest in trying out a BK Princess ??
I picked up 2 of em recently, I'm gonna install one in my garage this fall.
The other one was gonna go to my camp in Loganton, but it does'nt have too..
It's yours for this coming heating season if ya wanna try one !!
Uhhh sure

;lol
Yes, making it to work and back is my goal...
...And not having to buy one every three years because it's fallen apart, or having it nickle and dime you to death after four.

I will gladly try one i think a bk will suit this house well. And if i like it i would not hesitate to buy a chinook. I still wont buy a princess or king myself though.

Are you going to install it in your basement to replace the regency? If so, look shouldn’t matter... but I agree with you, I’d never put a princess or king in my sitting room.

I have said nothing about bks that i feel i will change after using one. They shine at lower heatoutputs which is now what i need. For many people they work well but they are not right for everyone. But since i got our new house i have said i though a bk would be a good fit.

Based on your previous posts I believe you will find the stove capable of more heat output than you suspect. That's providing the stove comes with the fans kit which, in my opinion, is a must for a serious heater.

I also think you will be surprised by the burn times. Even if you believe what you've heard, there's still nothing like seeing 24 hours of usable heat with wood left over for yourself.

Perhaps the alien technology will not impress you but....we'll see.

Even when a BK is pushed hard it out performs other stoves I’ve had. Running low is a must for me, since we start burning early in the fall and into spring as long as possible. When running it hard becomes a must I’m still impressed not only with heat output, but burn times as well. Not like my non-cats that barely had a spark left, if you were lucky. Not to mention you can’t leave it on high...

Interestingly enough I am looking at the possibility of moving and having to start over on my stove setups. I am strongly considering a BK. Not set in stone yet but I can't deny that the endless positive experiences of members here as well as the participation/help online offered by bkvp is weighing in heavily in my decision making process.

I dunno, my fan kit on my King never gets used, in fact, a year and a half ago I sent em to Marshy to use for the winter of 2016/17..
My stove is in a big room with 2 ceiling fans though..
The stove that's going to bholler does have the fan kit on it..
New combuster is on it's way also, just in case it needs one..

I use my fan all the time, however I do not burn 24/7. I use it when I first start the stove up to warm the room up for an hour or 2 then its off till the next day.

This pretty much proves my point. The BK's are capable heaters without the fans, I'm not saying they're not. But still, capable of putting out even more heat with them. How much more? I don't know. But it's quite a difference in my home and I couldn't comfortably heat my whole home without them at times.

I never said they couldnt put out decent heat. Just that they dont put out as much at peak as many other similarly sized stoves. But they do put out much more even heat over a longer time period than those stoves. My point in previous posts was that if you are going to be running your stove hard most of the time i dont feel it is worth paying for a bk because you wont be using them for what they are best at. I dont know why so many people get all bent out of shape when i say that. They are great stoves just not right for everyone. And in my old house it would not have been the best fit. This one i feel it will be.

Oh and i may not have run one full time in my house but i have been around quite a few running and have run some in customers houses. I know it is nowhere near the same as heating with one and i expect to be impressed. But they arent magic.

I hope you don't think I come across as bent out of shape. If I do it's likely my poor writing skills which often cause my messages to be misconstrued and even misunderstood.

Anyway, if you have given any details of your new house I missed it. How big an area will you be heating? Basement install? Etc. you know the drill, lol.

Insulated basement install in a 1970s ranch with newer windows and doors. Decent insulation with more to be added to the attic. 1100 squ ft per floor.

And no i didnt think you were bent out of shape i was referring to others who have responded to previous posts.
