Hello
I am working on this Whitfield Advantage Plus.
Originally I thought it was the Advantage III
The large ash pan does not slide out because it hits the ash dump tabs. The right one more than the left on but especially the center ash dump tabs for the ash dump under the burn pot!
Nothing obviously wrong is standing out here?
Does anyone know how to fix this?

See pics
1 - Stove
2 - Ash Pan hits tabs on center ash dump
3 - Stove with ash pan removed - Had to pry it with a screw driver to get it out!
4 - ash dump under burn pot
Note: Ash dump under the burn pot does not close all the way like the left and right side dumps do. Therefore the ash pan must be behind these tabs to close all the way!

I think you have an Advantage Plus, due to the large ash tray. Are you sure this thing was built the right way ? See instruction manual.

I just learned that not all Adv Plus stoves came with the Igniter. However all the Adv Plus stoves come with an Igniter tube! This stove has the dummy tube. The Igniter will screw into the dummy tube but how does that front cap come off?

I just checked the burn grate in the stove. It is the 13 bar 6-7/8” wide burn pot not the 10 bar 5-1/4” Burn Pot! That means it is the Advantage Plus! Right?
These grates only fit the Quest Plus, Advantage Plus and Cascade!!

The stove is old and beat up. Any ideas on the ash pan?

The cleaning rod punched thru the cleaning rake so that rod has to be replaced. Is that easy?

I think I see the ash pan removal problem!
The front bottom right side of the pedestal of the stove is bent up which in tern makes the top of the ash pan to high and hits the ash dump! See pics

That scraped won't be fun to fix. Can't remove anything. Pull out the scraper, get it threaded, drill hold, two nuts ?
Are you sure this is not a hybrid ? These are from the mid 90s, could be two different stoves, hence it not fitting right.

It is a WP7 Advantage Plus since it has the wider burn pot and the large ash pan. The WP2 can have the one piece curved glass if it is an Advantage III but all those WP2s have the small ash pan and small burn pot.
I did put the 2x4 under the stove and straighten out the bottom by banging out the bend slowly with a rubber hammer. Now the ash pan slides out no problem. :)
The stove is almost all cleaned and painted. The hardest part will be fixing the cleaning rake. Lennox Whitfield make a repair kit with a cleaning rod with plenty of thread so nuts can be put on both sides of the cleaning rake. This kit also comes with a custom offset wrench to crank the nuts on, getting the old rod out in one piece does not look possible. Cutting it with a dremel like I did on an old St Croix Greenfield should work. Still not an easy job but I will try.
