Looking for some assistance please. I have a quadrafire mr vernon aerial and I keep getting conv blower jammed error message. I took the blower out and cleaned it earlier today. It started up and ran for several cycles and just again the blower shut down for about 3 seconds and started back up on it's own. Previously I would unplug it and it would run when plugged back in. I am worried it will stop and not start back up again. It is my primary heat in my house. Any suggestions?

The unit checks for jam on the blower by measuring the resistance through the circuit, if its spinning freely, the integrated circuit board inside the is either damaged and you need a new blower or the power supply pigtail going from the board to the blower is damaged.

Sounds like a defective blower, have you tried to kick start it after it stalls with a pencil, piece of wire or whatever you can get in there to spin the fan manually to see if it wants to start. If it's sitting there vibrating and shaking slightly then your blower motor is more than likely shot. It seems that after replacing the unit it would have lasted a bit longer than 2 yrs. Was the replacement an OEM or some knock off from china. How many years did you get out of the original blower?

It has been running for two days now. No idea why. It wouldn't shake or anything like that, it was just turning off. If I unplugged it and plugged it back in it would start back up. I replaced the unit with an OEM blower. The first one lasted several years. I am thinking it will run fine until it is minus 5 outside on a Friday night and then die completely. I am going to order another blower just to be on the safe side. Just wish they weren't $240.

Could be worse, could be shopping around for something new for under $4000.00 Hopefully a new blower will fix the problem. Sure am glad that we're not experiencing below zero temps over here in the Pacific Northwest,It's been quite mild over here this year.

Well, it's not 5 out, but the stove just died.

Well,I believe stove has to be unplugged to clear that fault.Maybe take the side cover off the stove and run it,motor will runn cooler.

I left it unplugged for about 30 minutes and it started. I thought the same thing and left the panel off.
Ya.some of the manuals say stove has to be unplugged to clear that fault. From the pictures I see on the net seem strange, how many wires are in the harness plug to your motor?

I would see if the drop tube thermocouple is producing millivolts, to run the conv. fan. Might be it instead of the fan. kap

I cleaned the spot where the thermocouple attaches to the feed chute and cleaned everything else while I was at it. The fan is running now but shut off for about 2 seconds and then started back up on it's own. I found a new blower at a corner QF dealer at a pretty decent price. Should i go ahead and put it in?

Former not corner

So it looks like the new blower is a bit different in the way it mounts. My old one used a pin to hold it in place. The new on has a spring latch. I dont think there is a notch for the latch to grab on to.

If memory serves(roll of the dice), they changed mount down the road a ways on em, not just for the insert. I would check with the dealer. kap

Now I just have to figure out how to burn pellets. I have to run it on the corn setting with a -5 flame height. Premium pellet setting on -5 is a huge flame.

Have you tried the other pellet setting? I Sometimes too, run pellets on corn setting as it is the slowest feed. And I also have to run on-5 with my corn. kap

At about 11:30 last night I found some sandpaper and really cleaned where the drop tube tc attaches with the wing nut. It started up and ran last night and all day today. Fingers crossed that this fixed it! I originally just scraped the area with a screwdriver but going back to what Kap said about cleaning that spot, I really cleaned it good.
