I bought a serenity last year for my shop and it fires up but does not really make that hot of an air or heat the shop at all ( about 1000 sqft)any ideas

Be sur3 to keep the exhaust voltage and the room fan voltage within 10 of each other. Are you running on room temp mode or heat mode.

On initial startup it defaults to heat mode. Use the arrow up button to level 5. When you set the stalls voltage....you have to do it for each heat range 1-5

Yes I’ve done that it runs in manual mode I can stand right in front of the stove and barely feel the heat I had a Quadra fire insert that heated a 2500 sqft house no problem idk

Pictures of the fire would sure help and the general idea of the chimney config. But on heat level 5 and the blowers all the way up like you have, it should be shutting down from over temp in a 1,000 sq shop.
How fast does a hopper full of pellets run out?

The chimney is a T with a clean cut then 6’ of straight pipe to a 90 and a 2’ through a thimble to the outside , the fire isn’t huge but it’s burning and I use about 3/4 of a bag if I run the stove all day 8+ hrs

Thoughts-how well is your shop sealed/insulated?The serenity is a small output stove(irregardless of what you have been told). These small china stoves really do not have high output, regardless of what the advertising that says different. In a sealed environment, they put out great heat, good performance for the money. So,as you bought it last year, how did it heat last year?

Sounds like it's all good as far as chimney and fuel use. About the only other thing I can come up with is pellet quality. I burn softwood douglas fir pellets. I can stand in front of the stove for a while on heat setting 1, but it gets very uncomfortable in front of the stove on higher settings. Wish I could help more, but that's about all I got.
