It's been a while since I've posted. Literally had nothing to post about! My Magnum Baby Countryside has been a good little stove. High maintenance for sure but as long as I kept it squeaky clean it has performed flawlessly. It was 11 years old so I've been searching for a replacement. I have always been a fan of the Harman Accentra FS. Built like a tank and easy to service...plus it's roughly the same size as the baby.

I finally found one. It's a 2008 Accentra 2. It was bought and serviced by a Harman dealer right down the street from me. It had been sitting for 4 years and the owner finally decided to sell it. I picked it up for $1500. After a thorough cleaning and service, replacing a worn Flame Guide, it fired up and ran like a champ. I installed it yesterday and now I am learning how best to run it. Man does it throw some serious heat...and it's quiet!

It's a great stove. Mine has been running strong since 2007. I've replaced one igniter, the distribution blower, and the feed motor in that time.

According to the records at the dealer, the convection blower has been replaced as well as the ignitor. Looking forward to just regular maintenance. The weekly deep cleanings on my Baby were getting old.

For info, the convection blower has 2 rubber mounted bushings at the outer ends. You can pop them out and oil the plastic bushings inside.Anderol 465 is preferred, but synthetic engine oil will work. You can also stand on end and oil the motor, kinda hard,I just drip some in,on a side of the motor, stand it up,spin it,let it sit a bit, repeat on other side.

Thanks Bob. That is very good to know. Looking forward to running this thing for many years!

I think the Accentra,is one of Dwayne Harmans best stoves, for the looks, design, and easy cleaning. It does not put out the heat of my Integra, but I no longer heat from the basement up,this beauty is right in my living room.Almost as quiet as my Integra, very quiet stoves.I feel the design(easy cleaning) does waste a bit of heat out the flue, but, not much, and time is money.I think I recommended putting in the air bypass tube in yours, but yours might have already had it.Also,as me,Don22 and others have said, the newer control board actually burns cleaner,Hope it serves you well.If you did not know, they still make it,3800 dollars,on sale. You got a great deal, but smart enough to do your own work.Stay warm.

My local Harman dealer is 2 miles from here. I buy all my pellets there and have known them for many years. Every time I went in there, I would "visit" their Accentra. It was always burning and I would imagine it sitting in my living room. It listed for $3900. Just didn't have the funds. Now I have, basically, the same machine for less then half price. Anything that wears out, I can replace. The frame is nice cast iron so it will last forever! My house is 1100 square feet so it is more than capable of keeping me warm. It's supposed to be near zero in a few days. It will be fun to compare it to the Baby!

No,I do not think so(actually better for you),I think you will find the Accentra is cast steel, unless you have the lower base plate, which is cast iron.A cast iron stove,of this thickness, would not survive being moved by a hand truck, and several people. But,cast steel, even being so much more flexible, also radiates about the same amount of heat. You purchased a great item, take care of it.Generally, the only place you will see cast iron,is in cheep cooking utensils from china. There are lots of old guy people here, lets see if they disagree.Over the years, people have confabulated? cast iron with cast steel. You now own one of the best Dwayne Harman designs. It will outlast you and me.

You are right, of course. Cast steel! I don't have the cast iron base. I will say, steel or iron, this thing is HEAVY!

Hey, funny, I just got an old P61 on Craigslist for $150 . Time for the Baby to go! Too much TLC needed. I'm cleaning up the new old P61 and hopefully I have it all set by next season. The previous owner told me it needed a new combustion blower but once I cleaned all the dead mice out of it and pried the petrified mouse off the fan blades everything seemed.to run fine! Here's the thread.

Road trip, went and bought a P68 for a grand. Was very clean, but had no xtras, trim etc.Took it straight up and gave it to sister and bil. They will be much warmer next winter. Test fired it on their front porch, it ran fine, but control board did glitch once, while doing lots of burning tests, will just have them spray out the pots for now.

It's amazing what a lack of maintenance can do to a stove. Now, you can reap the benefits!
