Ok, I have a question for my pellet burning friends. Lignetics, they have white bags with green Lignetics and white bags with orange lignetics on there web site. Are they the same or is one a hardwood and one a softwood or blend. There web page doesn't say what the difference between the 2 are, just one made out on western coast and one made here on the eastern coast. Does one burn better then the other or not. Now I am going to throw a anchor out, my local TSC has there labelled brand of pellets that are from Lignetics, because they have a lignetics label on the ton skid. What are they like, do they burn any good or are they just the Lignetics junk pellet or maybe a pellet that doesn't meet there standards. Who has burned both, either or any Lignetics, there brand or repackaged brand for TSC. I know I have seen a few responses and likes on here, what or which ones are you guys burning that those of you like. Any advise would help.

If TSC is carrying Lignetics, then it's the regular Lignetics pellet that's been rebadged, not a "second" or a pellet of lesser quality. If you use a barcode scanner, you could check a bag and see if it reveals the plant it's coming from.

01323800612 is a dark red bag, TSC branded Lignetics hardwood pellet. I've been happy so far.

In my 5660l lignetics green labeld pellets beat everything last year all around. Yes okanagans and sets where hotter. But the ash was non existent and ive never seen a whiter flame with these lignetics. Now the red labled ones are softwood fir and from idaho and if you find them buy them then tell me cause I have never seen them here in the east. The blue is a blend i have never seen those either. They are also under the namebof n presto logs.

This is the same UPC number that are on the bags at my local TSC store.

Racer. How Is that 5660 running for you. I have altered a few things and have made the burn pot completely self cleaning. Its amazing how clean its burning. Even with newp I get no more build up in the burn pot

It was a new install last year around this time. Knock on wood, it ran pretty flawless last year. I'm pretty anal with cleanings tho, my wife said I'm nuts and she had been replaced, a few times. I haven't fired it up this year yet, but I have/had gave it a deep cleaning to the extent of all motors pulled and cleaned out all passages by blowing out with forced air and vacuuming. Its setting read to go. I haven't had any burn pot issues yet like some have mentioned. Its has ran ok. I have seen/heard of warping burn pots, but mine has never got to some of the pics that I have seen of other peoples burn pots. I didn't push it real hard tho, low setting of 1 maybe 2 has been about as hard as I have had to pushed her, maybe a 3 setting a time or 2, but not for long extended periods. It cooked me out! Some pellet brands, I'm going to say the cheaper pellets, the burn pot contained/held lots of its ash. Only thing to do was just shut her down and clean her out. That may have been sometimes done every day (24 hrs.), to get the ash out. Softwood pellets like blazer, has burned about the best in it. I could go for several days with out shutting her down. I would like to see your modifications to the burn pot tho, I do think the burn pot is the weakest link on the whole stove. Was thinking about maybe getting another burn pot. I think it will be the 1st thing that's going to give up for me this year. Lots of people have said it runs a little loud, it did make some noise, but nothing unbearable. I could sit 3 feet from it and it didn't drive me nuts and I could still hear the TV just fine with a tick or 2 higher with tv volume. Over all, it has been ok. One thing for sure, it has saved me tons of money last year over oil and or gas prices. It ran pretty much as my main heat source and kept my 1720 sq. foot house with open floor plan, around 75 to 80 degrees most times. I ran it on manual setting, not a thermostat or the thermostat feature within the stove controller. Straight manual operation. I wanted to get/buy one of the new Englanders smart stoves, but they screwed around so long after they mentioned about coming out with them, I couldn't wait any longer for them to show up on the market, so I bought this one. Yea, please post some pictures of you burn pot alter, I would like to see what you have done with it. It sounds very interesting what you may have done with your burn pot and I like the fact of how clean burning and burn pot build up you have said about, with your results.

Could someone take a picture of the TSC's Lignetics bag? So I can identify more easily at the local TSC's around me. Thanks

151016_0000.jpg 151016_0001.jpg You can't tell by looking at the TSC bag, what kind or who bagged them. The bag all look the same, no matter who bagged them. You must take note of the UPC number and search it on the web, to find out who bagged them. The bag is the same for all who bags them.

I burned a lot of those red bag tsc pellets last yr thought they were great. Couldn't get any this ur my local tsc had a blue and white bag and also had pro pellets so far they have burned nice

Ok, these TSC brand labelled pellets, that are bagged by lignetic, aren't very good or maybe I should say, I don't like them. Thank god I test burned a few bags before buying a ton. They didn't seem to burn all that bad, but they weren't a real hot burning pellet. A shoulder season pellet at best. While cleaning out the stove today, the ash was VERY sandy feeling, not a fluffy, soft ash feeling. Felt almost like sand stone pebbles in a way. LOTS AND LOTS of carbon build up in burn pot. It scraped off like rust scale. Terrible, won't be buying any of them. Not saying I won't burn TSC brand pellets in general, but I will not be buying anymore of these bagged by Lignetic. Will try other TSC pellets, bag by other pellet manufactures. If they stink to, I will just keep testing others.

Just got some of this year Lignetics from the local Busy Beaver. $229/ton. Which might have a discount on top of that with a BB member card.

They are nothing like the Somersets I burned the last few weeks, but they are 284.50/ton at T&M Hardware.

Somerset's were very hot, almost hit 80 before I turned all the settings down to their almost lowest and still sat at 75. One bag lasted 24 hours. Very low ash.

Same settings the Ligs have only hit 70 after 3 hours, but I will give it some more time.

UPDATE ON LIGNETICS:

I have trouble finding CURRENT reviews of wood pellets. And it varies for regions. So here's my views for the 2018-19 year

Feb 2019: I'm in Colorado

LIGNETICS in the orange lettered bag totally rock in my Enviro Mini. Best pellets I've ever used.

Sumerset, pretty darn good too but not as close to Lignetics

THE WORST: Fiber Energy Products, premium oakwood, burned sooty and a ton of black ash and gloppy charred crap all in my ashpot.Total Crap.

Agree Lingetics and Natures Heat Pellet (Pennington) are a few of the best

Number one Worst is Heaters from Az
I feel really sorry for people who have never bought another brand then Heaters and think its is normal to have so much ash and wonder why they cant put their stove on low
To keep the chill out plus the price of them are a Rip Off
I explain to them Its Not Normal to clean after 4 days of low use because of ash
I explain its not normal to Not be able to put on lowest setting and stay warm
I explain its way to much to pay over 6 bucks for a bag of crap
I try to open up to trying other brands
Please Please understand there are better brands out there and for less
Lingetics i think is one of the best
WalMarts Natures Heat is also good,
Tractor supply also has a couple of decent brands to try under 5 bucks
So please spread the word to new pellet stove owners that Heaters are the Worst
I live in the same town where Heaters are made they go 375 / 400 a ton del thats way to much
We dont get any discount from them
So i buy out of state pellets for less
Thank you for this platform to help others
And to help them by telling them Heaters are the worst
I am a shamed of this company and i feel so sorry for people that buy this horriable product from my state
Tell your retailer you want better There are better cheaper pellets avaiable to you

Heaters sells alot of their cheapest worst pellets to Goverment funded programs Like ,Seniors & Disabled low income familys and these poor people Have to use and burn them They have no choice in the matter . What a rip off Pure Greed

Boycott Heaters Pellets From Az

Thank You
Peace
