Good day all,

I recently purchased Timber Wolf EPI 2200 wood stove insert for my fireplace. Love it. Great unit. I have a question about the blower motor.

There is an adjustment knob on the side of the blower motor that is not explained in any of the literature. Is this simply an ON/OFF for the blower motor or is it an adjustment of some kind? If it is an adjustment, what is it adjusting for? Temperature it comes on? Time it runs? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have a great day!
Erin

Can you post a picture of the knob?

Thank you for your help. Here it is from a couple of different angles.

Look at the swoosh. That is a modern pictographic indicating that if you twist it this way it goes faster, and it goes slower if you twist it the other way.

I thought it also might indicate a higher or lower temperature at which the blower comes on. Played with it this morning when the blower came on and it does control the fan speed. I was hesitant to play with it until I got some other opinions. I am new to wood stoves and didn't want to break anything. Thanks everyone for your help.

The blower has a thermocoupler between the power source and the fan. At a certain temp it will close and send the hot leg of the power to the switch with the swoosh. Turing that switch on completes the circuit and the fan should begin working. As you adjust it to lower speeds, you are adding resistance to the line. The switch with the swoosh is a rheostat.

You may occasionally hear the thermocoupler click as it opens and closes.

I also believe the Thermocoupler (Disc) can be had in different Temperature rating.....correct me if I'm wrong
