Hi Mark, I am seriously considering getting a 63. What was the outcome of the touch screen?

I had an Absolute 63 installed yesterday and had the same issue this morning. I saw the software was linux and was hoping that auto USB boot was set as default. It was!

If you load the software update on a flash drive as shown in the directions on Harman's website and do the following steps:

1. Plug USB drive into port that contains the updated software when the screen is messed up
2. Open the lid to the hooper as this seems to reboot the system when frozen
3. Upon reboot, the software is configured to auto load the updated software which fixed my issue.
4. Once the default menu comes back then you can unplug the drive

If opening the lid does not reboot the computer, you can always unplug and plug the stove back in which will reboot the computer. I mention opening the lid as this didn't put out the current fire or cause any disruption.

I have had no problems since running the update. I figured this could be useful for others.

Think i will wait on getting one till they get the bugs out. Analog dials are a bit more reliable for now. Just sayin

I have a P68 downstairs and an Absolute 63 upstairs. They both have their pros and cons. The touch screen issue is easy fixed and the stove works great. I really liked the top vent feature not available on the P68 and think the absolute 63 is a great stove.

I ended up buying the 63, had the same issue 1 day after install, and I am waiting on my new touch pad to show up, but in the meantime have figured out if I keep a fan blowing directly at the touch pad, it doesnt go haywire. But as soon as I turn off the fan and let it heat back up, the touch pad goes out. The stove still functions normally, you just cant make any adjustments until it cools down. At least that is what I have seen. The place that I bought from, said that they heard it may be even as simple as the wires not being plugged in firmly enough to touch pad from the factory and when it heats up, it starts acting up. I'm waiting for the part to show up before I mess with anything. I will say though, this stove kicks out some heat, BUT Harmon needs to fix this now. We have it about 85 in the basement and that keeps our kitchen, and living room around 70-74 degrees. Finished basement where the stove is: 600 sq ft, over 2000 total sq ft. 2 story.

We must have different issues. I hope they get it worked out for you. So far after the update yesterday, I have not had any issues. The stove had been running hard since it was zero last night and the touch screen is working.
