Enviro Meridian

My Enviro Meridian has been blowing what appears to be pellet dust/granules from the small gap between the back of the fire box and the front flange of the hopper. I did a complete yearly cleaning recommended in the manual. The granules are then blown by the heat exchanger tubes approx. 4 feet out from the stove. I live on an island which makes it a bit more difficult and expensive to arrange for a service call. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

2005. There appears to be the pellet granules in the back below the auger too.

The two things that come to mind they are the auger lower bushing is worn out
allowing dust and small chunks to pass by.
Or the auger shoot cover needs to be sealed. ( unlikely but possible)

Check the hopper body itself at the seams- dust could be getting through there too. If so, silicone will seal it. Could be worn auger bushings too as john above said. If they haven't been changed before, its time they be replaced.

All the hopper seams appear to be in good order. There is a small pile of pellet dust below the auger in the back so the bushings being worn is likely the culprit. I had an Englander stove prior to this one as it was easy to work on. Is replacing the bushings a DIY job or definitely call a service tech? If it is DIY should I replace the bushings only or purchase the plate with the bushings already installed? I appreciate your help on this as I am learning a new (to me) stove. Thank you.

How handy are you
The bushing and plate are easy to replace.
It takes a little more skill to replace the bushing only
The first time I did one I did the bushing and plate
Then I bought a bushing and put it in the plate
Now I have a spare. If you do it your self
clean the auger end shaft with emery paper

I agree with John. If you're a mechanical guy, it's not hard to get done. Be patient, take pics if you need to.
