Well, cleaned the chimney and the stove today. Looks like I will likely be done burning for the season. Maybe one or two more fires, but that’s about it. This was the first year with out new Regency insert. I was not disappointed in the stove at all, only in the fact that we didn’t get to burn much. We usually burn 2 cords a year, with shift work and the fact that I really don’t like to burn unless someone is here. This year, a cord, maybe a little more. Here are some pics of the stove after the first year. After inspecting it, I saw no issues (knock on wood). Heated the entire house, 1800 sq ft with no problem.

Hey not bad....a lot of folks wait til next burn season to clean out the stove and chimney so your on the ball.

I like to clean everything out earlier as well. That way, if any issues are discovered there’s plenty of time to address it.

Soon I'll be able to say I've gotten through my first year with the Ideal Steel :)

It's taking a break this weekend but I should be burning it again by Sunday night with lows predicted to be back in the mid 30's for next week. Once it's shut down for good for the season, the stove room gets a good (long overdue) dusting and I'll clean the stove and stove pipe out. Did it once midway through the burn season just as a check to see how everything was doing. I didn't have more than a few tablespoons worth of crude! :)

Your stove looks great. I'll likely have a few more fires in April before shutting the stove down for good. What did you use to clean the stovepipe and chimney? I use a SootEater.

I use a Sooteater as well. Cleans my pipes super easy! Only crappy part is getting on the roof to remove the chimney cap to scrap the junk off by hand.
