In The Woods
Some of this p.o.p. is from the garage clearing and the bigger stuff left is from a pine we had taken down, It's about 78 with the humidity at 37 so it wasn't that bad.

Before I start on what's left, I'll split the rounds and move them over to the outside fireplace.

Out in WA State no one burns Oak or any hardwoods. I have one Oak tree on my 10ac. It's only 20 years old at best. Woodpecker last year tired to kill it. So far the pruning spray works keeping the stupid bird away (drilled lots of holes for sap to drain out).

I'm no expert, but my experience is the birds can hear the bugs under the bark and are opening up the tree to get the bugs.
Basically the bugs are trying to kill your tree, not the birds.

We have some Pileated Woodpeckers that go after trees that ants are in, most are in the woods and not around the house.

On our first ride in the boat this year, we went by a place that had put flashing around some big pines the Pileated Woodpeckers had done damage to years back. About three of those trees ended up doing some heavy damage to the camp from either the winter or some wind this spring.

I split a bunch of pine rounds that ended up being eight or nine loads that went over to the fireplace for burning once it gets wet enough.

The first picture is part of what I bucked up the other day. I have some cleanup in front of the fireplace on the right side before I can burn. We did get some rain this morning but we'll need a couple of days of rain before I'll burn.
