Picked this up from a guy who is moving out of state. 8 yrs old. Not sure it has EVER been cleaned...LOL. But, the price was right. Did a deep clean and replaced the burn pot and exhaust gaskets and she fired right up. I hope I never have to move it. Its a beast.

I just bought a used XXV too. I'm having trouble figuring out the right adapter to my 3" pellet vent pipe. It seems the cast iron piece on the XXV slides between the two layers of the duravent pipe instead of inside the inner pipe. Is your like that?

I'm using Duravent as well. You need this piece to connect to the stove.

Does the inner part of the Duravent adapter slide inside the output adapter on the stove?
No, it slides over the outside of the cast iron stove piece. I used a little high temp silicone sealant on the stove tailpipe...slide the duravent adapter on and then wrap some high temp silicone tape over the seam. The adapter is readily available at Depot, Lowes, etc.

Hmmm, I have a standard kit too. I am attaching a diagram of the duravent adapter I have. Currently the harmon cast iron outlet sides into the area shown in blue. The air space between the inner and outer pipes. Is that how yours went on?

Each end of the stove adapter looks different. The outbound end (which connects to the rest of your piping) would look like this (and allows you to connect and lock the next piece of pipe). The other end is slightly different. You should see the inner pipe sticking out about an inch. That's the end that connects to the tailpipe. It doesnt twist lock like the other pieces. Its a snug fit on the tailpipe. I add the silicone sealant and silicone tape just to make sure there is no leakage of smoke. You can see what I'm talking about in that pic I attached. Look at the botton of the pic to see the inner pipe sticking out.

Here is a bigger pic so you can see it better. Its the bottom end that connects to your stove.

YES...exactly. It goes on pretty snug but should still be sealed with sealant/tape
Damn, That's what I was afraid of. The adapter I have from my old stove doesn't fit. The cast Iron outlet on the Harmon slides between the inner and outer walls of my adapter. The blue area in the diagram I sent. I ordered a Duravent adapter, 3PVP-ADHB , that is made for the Harmon. I hope it fits. Sorry for all the back and forth but that was the answer I was looking for,

No worries. I'm no expert on this stuff but, there are many wise members here who are great at answering questions. I've learned a lot just reading various threads. Hope it all works out!
